no american want to seen dead driving a lincoln but somehow Chinese like it, wtf? same with bruick.

Especially Bruick. Amazingly crappy. Don't really understand the taste of the customers. Hopefully, especially on the SUV and MVP segments, local brands will further close the gap.

Because China is getting local-assembled cars. As long as cars are assembled in China, that is fine with China. Same case in everywhere. China as consumers are more interested in local-assembled cars than foreign imported cars. It is all about supporting economy and local discounts, plus good investments for China.

Buick is amazing build up quality cars and doing okay in North America. Hard to say about the engine-wise though. Buick is China's assembled car which inherits the sign of quality build-up in comparison to poor American-assembled cars such as GM.

GM owns Buick although GM is losing Opel in sales, American version of Buick in Europe, hence selling Opel to French car manufacturer, Renault i presume.

The same Renault that partly own Nissan which also partly own Mitsubishi. In short, subsidiary just to avoid headache or confusion.
