why don't kashmir go to independcy by democracy

I'm a chinese. i have a curious question. Every pakistani and kashmir people wish india occupied Kashmir to be independent or jion pakistan, But why don't you take advantage of election sytem of india, you may call up all muslim in india occupied kashmir take part in kashmir local election , then control kashmir government and congress, then muslim controlled govnment can hold a referendum of independency or joining pakistan. why don't you walk this road?

i don't know current information of pakistan and kashmir, so i have this this question

Before answering his question - at least read his question. He is asking why the elected representatives of Kashmiris who are Muslims led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hold a referendum to enable Kashmir to be independent.

Answer

1. Muslims who are elected don't support independence

2. Separatists who claim to enjoy popular support do not stand for elections.

While the Legislative Assembly can't enforce the separation or independence of Kashmir, no one can stop them from passing such a Resolution.

Regarding ur next question, separatist so not enjoy popular support in Kashmir.
Every time elections come, they ask people to boycott elections. But people black their faces by going in grooves and take part in Indian democratic election process. Last election was a major success.
This shows separitism enjoys support only among a minority in kashmir.

We cant and wont hold a referendum in Kashmir, because the whole of Jammu and Kashmir is ours. It is an integral part of India.

The only way to hold a plebiscite in Kashmir is for Pakistan to fulfill its commitments according to the UN resolution 47, and demilitarize and move out of entire Azad Kashmir. Which they wont do.

And Pakistanis are generally deluded that Kashmiris wanna join Pakistan. They DONT.
