This always puzzles me, we have at least four main provincial languages in paksitan namely punjabi, pashto, sindhi, balochi etc. Why there is no culture of learning at least one language of a neighboring province. Here in Germany for example school students are required to learn one or two foreign languages spoken in EU, so most germans learn french, spanish, italian etc. But we have no such requirement in Pakistan. I think there is a need to learn at least one regional language other than the language/languages of your own province in Pakistan.

Not just understand speech but to also understand the culture and mindset of the people of other provinces for business purposes also.
Have you learned any language or trying to learn

in school level it should be a must.. at least local language whtehr it is punjabi. potoharo or seraiki.. i have seen multani not able to speak seraiki...

strategically it is very important...like knowing pushto, balochi or sindhi... for common people and politicians.. one can imagine what if west knew Bengali at large...

Punjabi, saraki and pothoharis can make good sense of each other without even learning the other dialect/language. I am talking about hardcore different langauges like punjabi learning pashto, balochi or sindhi etc. and the vice versa.

I can understand some words of pashto, for example tor means black, spin means white, makhay means mouth or face. Stargay means eyes. za means I, taso means you or your etc.

Just a of few words
here in our area pathans speak Punjabi like us even there 4 or 5 year old kids can speak Punjabi

Punjabi and seraiki are same languages just pronounciation difference

if i had money i would convince parents to send them to my school for 2 years for basic engineering courses, programming language and then like korean, chinese, italian, gemran, swedish etc... as some countries are very cheap to study for graduation and masters.. knowing language gives you ample opportunities in job sector too.. But our elite, cvilian or military had a zest of just US aand UK... they are willing to burn their assets for these countries expensive education... like China is ahead in 5G and artificial intelligence.. Pakistani studnet goes to China but none know Chinese lnguage..

Why you have such an aversion to the pakistan's indigenous languages like punjabi, pashto, sindhi, balochi etc. You talked about all irrelevant languages except learning our own languages about which I opened this thread.

No science literature in local languages. Just wait for few years, people will stop learning Urdu. Infact, many educated people hate Urdu.

waste of time. we already waste too much time in learning at least 3 languages . urdu, english and one provincial language . the most important for us is to learn arabic and we generally dont care about it.

I just highlighting importance of learning language... it has huge potential... but we don't bother about it.. in our mindset just a degree adn then job.. people tend to learn language when they travel or study there. like a punjabi studying in Peshawar university.. Unless there is incentive, peopel won't learn
On top I was emphasising learning other languages so that Pakistani people have influence there..

It would be easier to learn a regional language compared to english if it's taught in school like balochi or pashtu
