Why do Pakistanis love Kashmir?

Kargil happened in 1999, Parliament attack happened in 2001. This was all agreed after that. And it was agreed back channel with India. With deals like these things are always sorted well ahead of the actual signing ceremony. The signing ceremony is just a formal photo shoot. The details have already been worked out. It's not like Pakistan was to go to India and say sign this. India and Pakistan had both agreed to it, you can ask or check your foreign ministry sources. However just before it could be signed, India backed away for reasons best known to them. The point being, there is no way India will get Kashmir from Pakistan, and vice versa without a nuke war. Simple. Indian PM and Musharraf both realized this. So just make LOC the border.
after doing kargil... u wanted india to trust Musharraf ... lol.

.
Actually I can see such a possibility from your side .And my doubts was confirmed when the staffs in here talks like that. One of them told us several.times that they are looking for demographic change of entire India where Muslims having more than 50% population.Ok we can.ignore that as a silly comments from PDF.But your actions in other parts proved otherwise. We simply dont trust you guys .
What actions???
You guys dont have anything with a Southie named as Tipu Sultan .yet I have seen the your members in here taking prpud about him.And If I am right you have a ship.in the name of Tipu. And we also heard about Hafiz Rant about raising Pak flag in Red Fort etc.
We honour Tipu Sultan as he was one of the last muslim rulers in India who fought against Britishers

Agreed
We are ready to make LOC the int. border but can i say the same for Pakistanis including the Pak PDF members posting here. They never realize it's just impossible to take Kashmir from India.

Other than the facts that you've corrected, you did not say anything about the main topic, which is why do Pakistanis love kashmir?

The same last reason that mentioned in original article.'Gora rang' .Some guys in here already verified it through their stupid comment.

.
Because they are our kith and kin, co- religionists, culturally closer to Pakistanis, trade and relations for thousands of years and most importantly if you asked Kashmiris who they wish to be with, pakistan? India? Independant right now, we would accept it in a second. Pure fact is other than Punjab and Himachal Pradesh kashmir has very little to do with the rest of India.

Rather than put the point to pakistan, the author should question why India and Indians are so insecure and so untrusting of their democracy that they should gag and smother Kashmiris, until they do otherwise they will never attain their true status in the world

.
Lol
Still dont get it .Dont you ?.If we were a bully like you the BD would have been our other state after 71 liberation. But didnt happen why.Responsible nations wont bully others. They will react only when their national security is being questioned by others. We dont get any thing from you except headache if try for others territory
If u dont want Pakistani territory Then what is Akhand Bharat???Why do u guys keep on ranting about Akhand Bharat:mad:

Superficial!
right!
But had she been brusque then would it not 've invited a lot of criticism from the authorities?
The 'authorities' have a lot more important things to do than criticise random bloggers. It's not the Thought Police here in Pakistan, don't worry, she'd be perfectly fine if she said anything like that. I'd prefer it if she was brusque, at least we could see what she was really getting at and analyze it from that perspective.

@levina check the facts before posting articles and post meaningful articles
I thought the article made sense.
She has adroitly pointed out at a few facts which 're true and the jist of the article was that Pakistan is wasting its time over Kashmir, something which has become a white elephant for the country.

A lot of actions including drugterrorism in Punjab.

Thereyou goes .Pazhassi Raja was also a southern king that fought against British through Guerilla warfare. But you cant
accept because he is not a Muslim.Right ?That is why I said we dont trust you .And you just proved it.

Trust me, nobody believes in Akhand bharat concept, may be members here use that word just to irritate our neighbors.
I had not even heard of that word before I joined pdf.

Western and Pakistani media coverage – can only operate in London as opposed to their home country. Yet the Pakistani state wants an influx of 5 million Kashmiris (ISI seems to have already granted them honorary citizenship) so thatJihad Fi Sabilillah can be established and victory can be achieved. Of course, Nawaz pretends it’s not about Jihad but his passion for human rights.

Recently, I spoke to a kid who was once a student at an elite and Westernised school in Pakistan (speaking Urdu even during breaks is punishable by a detention at such schools). I was surprised that he couldn’t even take a casual joke on the Kashmir issue. He remarked, “Kashmir does not want to be a part of India.” Amused, I retorted in my usual tongue-in-cheek tone: “Precisely. Kashmir is a natural part of Pakistan and Kashmiri Pandits must pay jizya.” The guy was a non-partisan Muhajir. Obviously, non-partisan quintessential burgers are easily swayed by PTI’s futile hyper-nationalism. If they are fortunate enough to see through the sheer stupidity of PTI Youthism then Musharraf soundbytes (‘Musharraf Saved the Economy!'; ‘Musharraf is a Hero!'; ‘Musharraf was a Liberal!’) seem to work fine. But even for the cream of Pakistan, why exactly Kashmir? So often in intellectualised debates within international relations theory, we must decipher the root cause of security dilemmas between two or more states. Why does a revisionist state like Pakistan want more than it can cope with? Here are a few hypotheses as to why Denialistanis love Kashmir:

Geographical aesthetics hypothesis. REJECTED: Pakistan already has most of the Northern regions– all of which probably much more beautiful than a now war-torn Kashmir… but apparently ‘Paradise on Earth’ must be conquered.

Cultural hypothesis.REJECTED:
Even inhabitants of Pakistani-administered Kashmir (Azad Kashmir) do not speak the same language as Kashmiris. The former are generally Potoharis – they are linguistically, culturally and ethnically closer to [Northern] Punjabis. On top of this, ethnic Kashmiris had nothing to do with the Pakistan Movement.

Historical ties hypothesis. REJECTED: Since Pakistanis are mostly Muslims and believe in the idea of the Ummah, apparently before the downfall of the Ottoman Caliphate we Muslims all lived happily ever after. This could not be far from the truth. The Kashmiris had their own history and culture, separate to that of other Muslim groups like Mughals, Pashtuns and Punjabis.

‘Nawaz Sharif human rights’ hypothesis.REJECTED: This does not take into account that if Pakistan wouldn’t keep initiating wars with India over Kashmir, then human rights violations in Kashmir on the part of India would most likely lessen automatically. Secondly, if Pakistanis love Kashmir because they care about human beings, then they would stop killing current citizens first.

Only Pakistan can seriously administer Kashmir’ hypothesis.REJECTED: Even Azad Kashmir isn’t properly administered by Pakistan. The people of Azad Kashmir are Potoharis and very Pakistani, yet they have shown themselves to be capable of reforming their own region without the help of the Pakistani state. If Pakistan can’t control Azad Kashmir, how will it control Indian-administered Kashmir?

If America can be a hegemon and Israel can defy international law, so can Pakistan’ hypothesis.REJECTED:
This certainly explains Pakistan’s constant revisionism, but it doesn’t explain why exactly Pakistanis love Kashmir in particular.

Ideology (Islamism) hypothesis. REJECTED:
There is obviously an overarching ideological drive (Jihad is the Pakistani army’s convenient ideology). However, if it was purely about Islam, then why not desire an influx of Muslims from Hyderabad, UP or CP or the Biharis of Bangladesh?

‘Pretty fair-skinned barbarians’ hypothesis:ACCEPTED: It sounds shallow to judge others by their appearance, but we know most Pakistanis are pretty shallow. In the confines of academic rigour and political correctness, the ‘pretty fair-skinned barbarians’ hypothesis has been dismissed as a childish attempt to promote racial realism. But the fact is, the Pakistani mind just can’t get enough of pretty fair-skinned barbarians. I mean… I like my men tall, dark and handsome (and somewhat modern!). But just take a look at Pakistani dramas as they try to romanticise village life. Take a look at Lollywood as it hires the fairest skins from Heera Mandi. The Sufi traditions so popular in both urban and rural centres always have fair-skinned barbaric pirs to represent them. This includes Abida Parveen. Secular, industrialised people always lose out in Pakistan.

British cultural critic and psychiatrist Theodore Dalrymple writes, “Stereotyping is inevitable in complex societies in which not everything can be known about every individual.” When we look at Kashmiri Muslims in Kashmir from a macro lens, it is clear why Kashmiri Muslims – despite a lack of a shared history and language – are so appealing to Pakistanis: gora rang, coupled with a literacy rate of 50%, a penchant for Sharia and an obstinate preoccupation with traditional norms and folklore, the oppressed Kashmiris are to be welcomed with open ‘arms’ (no pun intended) in Pakistan.
Dude, is that true about lollywood?

As much as i can understand its not in India's interest to solve Kashmir issue. The reason is they know Pakistan won't let it go. Kashmir cause needs Pakistan to be Islamic and it will hurt the 'Jihad' if Pakistan adopt secularism. No secularism means irrationality in foreign policies and unstability.

1;Firstly i know pakistan more than u considering the fact that u r sitting in SA.Secondly,i have visited cantt. and i know what u r trying to say.
2:Army provides relief to soldiers and officers using its own funds by investing money in housing schemes.Thats why 22the uniformed govt emplyes`` get those benefits for serving their country
3:Those were just scandals, nothing concrete to prove. Also u mentioned Pakistan army looting and plundering in Pakistan in comparison with indian army`s plundering in IOK.....Would u care to clarify????
4:I have no idea about NUST`s rector being from the army???May be @Pakistani shaheens can explain. Also its irrelevant as its not considered as ``looting and plundering``.

Firstly brother.. right now i am sitting in Askari 10, Rawalpindi, next to chaklala Garrison and General's colony.

2. at the end of the day all govt "servants" uniformed or non uniformed must get the same benefits (ideally) otherwise it is considered as intitutionalized corruption. Secondly how come looting land from railways department (Askari 10 my home) is legal and does not fall under the looting and plundering category. This is just to name one housing scoiety. How come you can give a plot worth 20 million in 3 milliion (easy installments) as relief and not provide similar benefits to more senior govt servants from other departments. Is govt teacher not serving. Moreover as per the civilian / military equivalency a brigadier is above BPS 19 and less than BPS 20(civilian)... The last time federal govt employees got a housing scheme was in 2003 i.e., Sector G-13 islamabad.. In the last 12 years retired Federal govt employees are still waiting for a housing scheme to be launched. Is this fair?

3. They were scandals because they were shifted to army courts from civilian courts? How about ISI spending money to buy politicians? How about Gen Musharaafs Farm house? Is it being used for agricultural purposes... is this not looting and plundering public wealth

4. I have been associated with NUST for six years 4 years study and 2 years job.... having an unqulaified person doing a prestigious job which he doesnt deserve is looting and plundering...

There is no facts in the article which speak of the Pakistani point of view. The article loses all credibility in its first few lines. Taking the criteria of this author and India should be in a few pieces if not more... The white elephant is something funny i wonder how many troops we have facing unrest in Kashmir...
