lol, on contrary. Nazi Germany happened partly due to the unfairness of the Allies force after WW1. Germany wasn't the cause of WW1 but it took the grunt of the blame. The holocaust, does every German citizens know about all the details of what going on?? In fact, I do know some german citizens actually help the victims. Others just too fearful to act (hence that famous quote about I didn't do a thing when they came for the Jews, etc, until they came for me). Even man like Rommel are respected among the allies. If indeed, there are devastated human crime against the German non combat citizens (indiscriminate of who support or not support Nazism). Then sure, I would feel sympathy to them.
Again, I think you really need to check all the declassify stuffs out. This whole incident about fighting to the death thing was over the Japanese Emperor. Americans made that ultimatum know full well the Japanese won't accept it (in their mind) because they want to drop the atomic bomb anyway. Guess what happen to the emperor after the war? They didn't hung him like they threaten to.
Like I said, you don't need to feel sympathy toward the Japanese. Feel whatever you want.
