I think it's not that China treats Pakistan especially, it's that Pakistan itself is special. Pakistan has shown a rare maturity in international politics.

China are often accused of being predatory financiers, sharks, if you will.

Which is to say they give big loans to and invest heavily in infra in poorer smaller countries knowing full well their prey will not be able to repay.. they then repossess those infra and assets to recover their investments.

China also employ their own workforce, cutting off local labour when constructing said infra in the countries they prey on.

The previous political leadership was weak enough to not stand with the people. Now we change with strong leadership and you can see the results and the will of the people of Pakistan.

We have thousands of years of ties with silk road. CPEC and the military work closely. China and Pakistan work together politically on any international forum. We can stand against anyone for china's friendship and take pressure from us and the west simultaneously.

Pure western investment money is good, Chinese investment money is bad propaganda, it's the propaganda only just fools. the west had long been used to being the only money waving lender in the world, now they have to face a non western rival who has even more money than them, their frustruction turns into shameless smearings and slanderings.

No, I never said that Chinese investment money is bad. No smear and slander here.

It is however, a new kind of colonialism. Guess it comes with the territory when you are almost at par with the US/west on many metrics.

It is also essential you do that to compete strategically with the likes of the US and co that you do have your own style of colonialism. Chinese are highly active all over Africa, South America.. and in South Asia with your new Sino-colonialism thing.

Winning tenders for projects is not the same as offering it free or for so called soft loans.

India, if it commissions Chinese firms for infra or anything else.. they'll be paid, no loan BS and further liabilities.

I think it goes both ways,
China and Pakistan are essential for each other;
With Pakistan China can access the trade routes and energy routes that West is trying to deny.
and with China, Pakistan can have the strategic balance that it needs to overcome over size india.

Well many people don't understand why China project ussually they seek their own manpower. Malaysia too at first and then we observed and to our surprise we know why, it is their method. Efficient and fast their method they move things is incredible there is no way our method cannot cope with them due to speed and method. Many contractor in Malaysia knew there is no way we could do it as in construction speed determine the cost. Hence we could not compete in our joint venture project.
And we did an experienment our contractor build one block and the CN did another block. They could do it at faster speed. For instance we might take 6 months they took 2 months. If you are a capitalist. What is your decision?

In Indonesia they also have their unique method for instance their scaffolding is using bamboo. No way malaysian contractor is going to climb.
