What's new

Why are you a proud and patriotic Pakistani?

-What is there to be proud of?

Do you look at your mother and ask the same question? No? Why do you then question the motherland that gave birth to you and your people. The very soil of who's is mixed with the sweat, tears and blood of your ancestors. I have seen many places, but never has my heart felt at home then in Pakistan. Maybe being born and raised in another country has made it difficult to feel that connection for you?

-What has pakistan done for its average citizens?

The land isn't at fault for the failure of governments. On the contrary, the fact that the governemnt fails in its duty, makes me want to try even harder to serve this country as much as I can, and improve the lives of my countrymen. Even if many of them hate me, and some wish me death.

pakistan seems like its been a play ground for a handful of elite families that probably number in few 100?

The world is based on a hierarchy, and one could say the whole world is their playground. That does not take away from the fact that all of us on this world must strive to make the world a better place. You need to start that with your own country first.

Why are you loyal to Pakistan?

Because it's my home, and the home of my ancestors. It is the place where I feel I truly belong. Also, being loyal to it is part of my faith. I am not loyal to it because I hate India or any other country. I am loyal to it because it's my home. If you were only patriotic because of hatred for India, then maybe you need to rethink your priorities.

When blood and soil mixes - it creates a homeland.

It's shortcomings are our shortcomings, its glory is our glory. The rivers, mountains and trees don't make a nation - the people within do.

At a time when Muslim lands were being carved up, we were blessed by Allah to gain a nation for Muslims. The blood sweat and tears of our predecessors secured this land and preserved it.

It is your duty now to make it into something you can be proud of.

Ask the Indian Muslims about what value a state has.

You talk about poverty and injustice. Which nation didn't go through this phase? Every nation did.

Other nations are more developed? So what. They were also poor, full of injustice and corruption... the difference is that their people didn't let that get in the way of their love for their land, struggle and freedom. So they pulled through.

I am not telling you to not question the injustice, or poverty. But don't let it make you lose grip to reality. A nation doesn't become great overnight on its own. People have to work for it, and you're part of the group.
Tell me about 12 Pakistani poor people who ever got justice against the elite in the whole history of Pakistan

Few questions I have that really have started to bother me and I want other people’s opinion:
-What is there to be proud of?
-What has pakistan done for its average citizens?
-pakistan seems like its been a play ground for a handful of elite families that probably number in few 100?
-Why are you loyal to Pakistan?
Few thoughts:

I used to be a very proud and anti Indian and highly patriotic Pakistani.
over the past several years I am starting to feel like Pakistan is a sham and a fraud..it might’ve had noble beginnings but Pakistan has never been a country that has been able to provide justice to a ordinary Pakistani citizen for its entire existence without the following ( not justice just a way to make their miserable life’s better)
- a phone call To some elitist or an elitist goon.
- bribe
I do not see Pakistan changing for the the better unless a major uprising by its peasant class the 99.9999 percent whos only purpose is to be born and live a miserable live and die including members of my own family...

im not Indian, I was born in Pakistan raised in America.

add on
The average Pakistani is born into a miserable existence, lives his live without ever reaching his or her potential and dies never doing anything or being able to achieve anything becuase they are hostages of this state that only caters to the elite.
Nobody can prove this above statement wrong

Let me give you my view on it, I am from across the border from country you mention in same vein here....but there is something much more deeper you are missing I feel.

IMHO, family problems are there from beginning to end of the existence of your life here on this Earth.

Is not a country (or maybe nation is better word imo) simply a type of broader family?...the largest threshold expression that can be forged as such?

You may feel at times why do other families "look" or "do" "better", why are they better off etc etc...and it can lead to you looking down on yours. Happens to all of us, its only human, we are mortals in the end...with only a mortal understanding and finite, short presence here.

BUT, in the final analysis, the most important one...they are always your family in the end. They are your blood. Many put it on the line and even shed it so you may see this day. Those things never come easy, in fact its the hardest of all.

Everyone and anyone anywhere on Earth has much right to be proud of their nation and country....because all have that greatness in them...all are the expression and toil of great people...some with name and fame, but many without either....but all of whom cast vast deep shadows you shelter in today.

Ok

Why would I be ashamed of existing as a human being?
What do I have to be proud of?
I haven’t invented nothing
I have just been living a normal live work, family and friends and a little fun.
I’ll be proud of my existence the day I do something great.

Normal one..?.......?

Lmao...
so if your mother never fed you and beat you all the time would you still love her?
Brother you are materialistic and translate gains into love. If there are no gains or benefits from a person, you don`t bother paying regards to him or her.

Our Prophet( PBUH) has said:
(حب الوطن من الايمان)
Translation: "Love for one’s homeland is part of faith."

If you don`t feel love for Pakistan, it`s possible you are not a Pakistani but only related to Pakistan through your parents. So please don`t puzzle yourself if you are not a Pakistani patriot. Your query is misplaced.

And that is the fault of the people who sacrificed with their blood, or the fault of the people who sacrificed their entire life for this nation?

It's funny you mentioned that you're very anti-India in your first post as if that is what gives you your identity. You don't even know what Pakistaniat is, and judging from your empty replies so far with a tape on repeat in your brain, you probably might just never know. Enjoy the American dream, it's built for people who are only out to look out for themselves.

Nothing to be proud of. Being Pakistani has not offered me any benefit. Groups always devolve to the lowest common denominator. The elite families in all nations see themselves as a seperate entity. I. E. Hapsburg family. Controlled spain, Austria, Netherlands. They were a family. Not a Nationality. Nationalism is a tool used by the elites. While they themselves are the least nationalist. Where is musharraf? Sharif? Bilawal?

The only nationalist elites are single county monarchies

I'm glad u asked this question. It shows a self criticism rare in our culture. Pakistan is world class at nothing. If Pakistan disappears tomorrow. The world will hardly notice. There Will be no vaccum to be filled.

I have noticed the caste system to be the barometer of ones love for Pakistan or not here in the USA.

Usually Pakistani Citizens who due to the Hindu customs are deemed lower class in Pakistani society are usually the ones who forget their roots.
Because honestly, they have nothing to look forward too back home.

This is just my observations after speaking with multiple Pakistanis from multiple regions/castes.

Every immigrant community in the west, the ones who themselves or their parents had bad life back in their home countries have no love for their home countries and see their home countries as failed states. I know an Afghan young guy who has no desire to ever visit Afghanistan because his parents had bad time in Afghanistan before they left that country. Same is the case with Iranian expats in the west, most of them have no love of their home country. Also same is the case with African immigrants, their home countries have no meaning for them.

my nigga watch your mouth... im from well off land owning gujjar family... but none of our wealth in pakistan is due to pakistan... its thanks to america.....

Very accurate observation, in fact it is the case with every immigrant community in the west, the ones who themselves or their parents had bad life back in their home countries have no love for their home countries and see their home countries as failed states. this misguided mentality is the reason we are still a shit hole country.... either you guys are of the elite scums who never let this country get anywhere in its history and kept its people as hostages basically...or you must be aligned with them some how...

bro just show me 12 pakistanis from poor families who got justice in this country????

You have google too, why do we have to google this for you? Alternatively why don't you just look through court records?

I'll give you a few example i can think of.

1. Asia masih - eventually got justice from the supreme court
2. The parents of Zainab from Kasur got justice
3. 42 christian men accused of a lynching in Lahore got justice

Now you will argue "oh these cases are a travesty of justice".

You should have just wrote in OP "i feel wronged by Pakistan" and done all your rona thona upfront.
