Why are Turks so nationalistic?

In the Ottoman time the Turks were identified as a Muslim first later in early Republic times the were identified as only Turks and now again in twenty first century they are being identified as Muslim first Turks second it is clear sign that Neo- ottomans are back.

Those who claim that Pakistan was made for all the muslims of the region are dellusional...Pakistan according to Ch Rehmat Ali's Journal "Now or Never" in 1934 was Punjab, Afghania (old name KPK), Kashmir, Sindh, baluchisTAN.

It was made for Muslims living in these 5 regions, not for all Muslims, East Pakistan was supposed to be a separate Muslim state...this is what Lahore resolution stated in 1940 and only the above mentioned five regions were mentioned by Ch Rehmat Ali and also Allama Iqbal.

Pakistan should follow a secular democratic model mixed with limits of religous-cultural values of the people living in Pakistan. After all these above mentioned regions have their own history of thousands of years, Mehrgarh for Baluchistan, Gandhara for KPK and Norther Punjab (Potohar Plateau), Mohenjo Daro and Harrapa civilizations.

pakistan doesn't need to disavow moral duties to others in the region with deep historical religious and cultural ties to itself, but an argument can be made that pakistan must first and foremost take care of muslims in these five regions, and only when it stands strong on this ground can it spare some energy to help others outside its border. pakistan as a nation must first survive within the geographical bounds it was born with and must first serve as its highest duty those people living within the bounds who sacrificed all to see the nation's birth and growth in the past six decades.

pan-turkics, by contrast, are just lunatics: they know no geography, they know no bounds either on land or in politics and ethics. they don't belong to the family of nations and don't deserve the rudimentary legal protection afforded to other states and peoples.

For the same reason that Saudis are so radical in their interpretation of Islam.

Every nation has been formed on a basic ideology. In Turkey, it was extreme Turkish nationalism. In saudi arabia, it was extreme Islamic radicalism (wahabism). In Iran, a mixture of nationalism and shiaism. In the US, extreme capitalism. In Soviet Union, socialism.

etc...

Very well said. Honestly, this heavy nationalist element (almost chauvinism) is something what turns me totally off about the Turkish secularism (more precisely Kemalism), even though I don't like Islamism at all.

Does that say enough to you?

It's because they are conditioned to be nationalistic, human behavior is very susceptible to conditioning whether it be by the state, parents, siblings, or friends. Turkish society sees nationalism as a fundamental force that helps to maintain social harmony within the Anatolian region. The end of the Ottoman empire resulted in many nationalistic movements based on ethnic and linguistic factors. In the case of Turkiye the state and military and the founder of the state Mustafa Kemal with his very words "Ne Mutlu Turk'um Diyene" advocated and supported nationalism. Throughout Turkey in stores, shopping centers, public places, schools, Turkish flag is hoisted and displayed everywhere. Turkish ideology and identity is taught in schools and embedded in children.

Though Turkiye I think has a healthy level of nationalism especially considering their history and contemporary position in the world.

It's also important to note the degree of Turkish nationalism varies by ethnicity, region, and by religiosity.

I would say patriotism instead of nationalism.
It looks like nationalism but its more patriotism.

Patriotism and nationalism are pretty much tied in together in the case of Turkiye, every nationalist is a patriot, and every patriot is a nationalist in Turkiye. Perhaps I am wrong, but Turks believe in having a ethnic homogenous society. There are many ethnic Turks, Albanians, Bosniacs, Laz, and some Kurds who all refer to themselves as Turks because they are nationalist and patriotic and believe in a common Turkish identity. As you know in Turkiye to be a Turk isn't always an ethnic term but a nationality term as well.

That line says it all, well written.
Without that line it looks like we are ethnic nationalists.
Normal people could misunderstand it when you say nationalists.
