Why are the Afghan Taliban listening to Pakistan?

I have no idea how to contact him. You can use Twitter if you use that.

I don't have Twitter account but you can see tweets even if you don't have an account

Dr. Shahid Masood mentioned in his latest t.v program that one thing that must be acknowledged is that the main reason the Americans are interested in getting Pakistan's help with the problem of the Afghan Taliban is because the Afghan Taliban are willing to listen to Pakistan.

This is despite the fact that the Afghan government is vehemently opposed to Pakistan and is pro India. Yet they are virtually being ignored in terms of the Afghan peace process.

So my question is why are the Afghan Taliban willing to listen to Pakistan when they easily could directly negotiate given that they brought the Americans to the table through a long hard military resistance?

maybe lions are tired of being led by donkeys?

Do you think Taliban are fighting for last 20 years without any help from anyone?

yes from allah----

The ongoing negotiations between the US and the Taliban are a “charade” designed simply to provide the US a “face-saving way out of Afghanistan”, former CIA deputy director Michael Morell said as quoted

Afghan Taliban listen to Pakistan because only Pakistan understands them and raises voice for their rights and concerns

Only reason Pakistan is relevant for US is Afghan issue until Afghanistan issue is not solved Pakistan will stay relevant for US
US may not abandon Pakistan after Afghanistan problem is solved and there are many reasons. One of them is that US does want to send a lot of countries into Sino Russia Muslim block.
Things can become complex in the World. But this idea should not pushed or used for putting pressure or throwing the weight around because it can backfire.

our rivers orignate from india so by your logic we should listen to indua!

id say initially we helped them trained and armed them gave them safe houses and passage when america attacked afghanistan so in return they listen to us.

Please elaborate. I find your thoughts interesting but a little cryptic.

Well US will not want to push a lot of countries into isolation as they will join the Sino Russian block. As you can see with changes in relation ship between Turkey, Russia and Pakistan, Russia relations. These countries can get other countries into the block and that will change the trade and other patterns in the World.
However if Pakistan uses this leverage to push US then US will push Pakistan. Also by isolating Pakistan US may loose its influence in a country which has nuclear weapons.
I like to keep it vague because it is better sometimes to leave things vague.

Thanks.
If you've got something to say I think you should say it clearly because otherwise people may not get the true meaning of what you want to say.
However, I do agree with you and I think there's a lot of weight in your argument.
The Americans over the years have taken undue advantage of their power and wealth and countries are waking up to this and are looking for alternatives. In the coming years I think we will see a lot of countries drifting into other camps to better leverage their position much the same as the Pakistanis have done with China.
