What's new

Why are Bangladeshis going crazy over the Bangabandhu-1???

Simply there is no comparison between BD and Pakistan economically.

China has initiated CPEC to try to hold up Pakistan but even this has not yet allowed GDP/capita to grow at 4% a year yet. BD is nearing 7% GDP/capita growth.

Many respected economic commentators praise BD's economic performance while none do so for Pakistan.

FASTEST GROWING 100 MILLION+ LDC!!!

do not blame them this is what happen when someone come out from hell poverty . they have yet seen a little light out of darkness . wait when they will got first bridge fist high-rise first motorway first metro .thye thought its unique .well lets be honest here Pakistan spend too much money on country that is why reserves are always low . in my idea alone punjab spend more money then entire bangladesh . about SATs let it go man .

Our overall economic condition, literacy rate, mortality rate, GDP per capita and many other things show that we r ahead of pakistan. Don't think we need to use our satellite to prove that point.
Are those literacy rates reliable? Like the same literacy rates that claim over 70% of indians are literate when they don't have access to toilets. Bangladeshi students have been studying at Pakistani universities. Bangladesh imports chemicals and machinery from Pakistan. In what are Bangladeshis "ahead" of Pakistanis?
Economically Bangladesh has surpassed Pakistan and is well on its way to becoming the leading Muslim economic power of the Subcontinent. All of this despite the 1971 genocide committed by Pakistani Army and the related destruction. This is hard to digest for Pakistanis. Maybe they can take this moment to learn a thing or two from Bangladesh?

@Black_cats @UKBengali @shourov323
So you're telling me India is the fourth best country in the world or even higher considering their economy is ranked at that level? That would put most of Europe beneath them if you compare each individual country to India. This appears to be nothing but fallacious arguing.

Ohhh , so India importing Technologies and pretending to be superior? Why you guys bring India into each and everything? Whole world knows whether India imports space Technologies or develops it itself.

,Over 99 %Infians have access to senitation unlike Pakistan where 45%people lacks it. Your bluffing will not help you except giving you feel good.
I wasn't. I was just giving an example. I know the discussion is not about India.

Did people somehow forget that Pakistan just recently launched 2 remote sensing satellites in 2018?

Also Pakistan launched its first satellite in 1990 also via China...

The remote sensing satellites were indigenously developed by SUPARCO whereby the Bangabandhu was built by an Italian firm (Thales Alenia Space).

Lastly Pakistan is already developing advanced Ballistic missiles which can easily be converted to carry satellites into space especially the Shaheen series. The Govt recently stated that it has a goal of launching its own rockets into space within the next few years.

When was this announced?

Pakistani space program is pretty much on hold since the incumbent PTI Government came to power otherwise atleast 2 more satellites would've been sent up/acquired by now:

2018: PakSat-MM'1'
2019: PNSS-1
20??: PakTES-1B
20??: iCUBE-2

Fawad Chaudhry (Technology minister) announced it a few years back. Had it not been for the bhuttos/shariffs Pakistan would be launching its own homegrown rockets into space by now. I am sure foreign pressure has prevented us from doing so since the conversion of the Shaheen 3 to a space launch vehicle is not technically difficult at all.

The trajectory/guidance system would have to be changed so that the rocket remains in space, and the warhead payload would be replaced by a satellite payload :D
