Economically Bangladesh has surpassed Pakistan and is well on its way to becoming the leading Muslim economic power of the Subcontinent. All of this despite the 1971 genocide committed by Pakistani Army and the related destruction. This is hard to digest for Pakistanis. Why are Bangladeshis touting online that they are "ahead of Pakistan" (something they've touted for decades) by using American rockets and launching satellites into space?

It seems they are following the Indian tradition of importing technology and parading as they made it themselves?

I have nothing against ordinary Bangladeshis and feel terrible about the 1971 genocide, but this is beyond ridiculous.

Firstly you send millions of illiterate immigrants into our country who commit crimes and what not. You buy weapons from us, your students come to our universities, yet "somehow" you've been "ahead" of us, a nuclear power???

Now this latest "stunt" of launching an American supplied satellite out into orbit somehow demonstrates Bangladesh's imaginary "superiority" over Pakistan?

I don't mean to harsh, but how low can you get? Like seriously?

Dude no one said that I know of just because of 1 satellite Bangladesh is ahead of Pakistan. Bangladesh is just a new entrant in the field and still needs to go a long way. However plenty of opportunities are there in the field and can help Bangladesh earn a sizable foreign income.

Yes some of us are claiming Bangladesh is ahead of Pakistan despite geographically Pakistan in 5 times larger than Bangladesh due to Bangladesh's progress to empower woman, bringing them into workforce, increase literacy rate and the difference is big 72% vs. 56%, 5th largest university going population in the world, higher mortality rate, higher HDI, higher export earning and reserve (almost double compared to Pakistan), trying to do rapid development of IT and electronics sector, Pharmaceuticals, Ship Building, Textile, leather, ready made garments, creating 100 special economic zone all across country, number of IT parks to boost earning in IT and most importantly due to overtaking Pakistan in terms of nominal per capita GDP and by 2021 expecting to overtake in terms on PPP as well. Beside all these Bangladesh is investing heavily on infrastructure and power projects which will boost GDP and export earning more.

The problem of Pakistan is quite apparent. It's significant portion of the woman are out of economic activity, Pakistan failed to diversify it's economy, terrorism and internal instability is holding it's growth potential lower. Bad reputation in USA will also hamper the growth potential more and may affect export to USA as well. Other major problems are Pakistan has higher debt to GDP ratio, lack of investment in infrastructure, power and education and excessive investment in defense. Hope Pakistan overcomes all these problem and can get back on track.

I/we completely got your point, but it will be better if you just keep seeing what makes BD people happy.

No need to be critical, because Bangladeshis themselves are not critical most of the times or because our aim and path are different.

You are vulnerable in any attempt to make any comparison with BD right now because your image is not good in international media right now, whereas BD has some advantages because of doing better than PK in some particular areas such women empowerment, literacy rate, stability etc.

The closer the development rate gap between BD and PK, the more you will see such comparison thread by Bangladeshis (especially BAL) because of our historical tie.

So your best bet is make big and stark difference, if you can.

Bangladesh is ahead of Pakistan now, it is not closing the gap except for PPP per capita GDP and defense spending, rather making the gap bigger. Hope you keep your fact right.

why would we do that,, it took us decades to make and get an array of both cruise and ballistic missiles

these are for the defence of Pakistan, maybe in the future our allies like Turkey we could defend

but we're not going to waste them on Bangladesh unless your asking us to fire a couple at you??

We are not stupid to make mistakes like Pakistan and get embroiled in a neighboring country. We learn from the mistakes of other fools.
