After this recent incident in which Pakistan Army has killed 4 Indians soldiers at the LoC, I closely started following the stories from the Indian media in hope to find some reasonable voice.
No marks for guessing that I failed in that to a great extent. There is blood in their eyes and almost all of them are acting like ( for the lack of a better word ) a rabid dog who has bloody eyes and is ready to pounce on you. You'd say this is their usual response and it doesn't matter as far Pakistan is concerened. And you'd be right in saying that. However, a slight difference this time is that they are really searching for answers and are begging their political and military establishment to chalk out a road map or formula to get rid of this issue ( of loosing soldiers regularly ) once and for all. Also, I sense a little bit of realization of the fact that war with Pakistan is not a card they can play. Offcourse their military establishment is well aware of this fact since long but their media which is usually blood thirsty is also raising this point albeit unwillingly. There seems to be a feeling there that despite the bluster of the super power tag, military might and 'punishing Pakistan', in the grand scheme of things, it is Pakistan who is being real cheeky, is bleeding them through a thousand cuts and doesn't mind the status quo at LoC.

Is this precisely what Pakistan aims to achieve because we are doing just that and doing it in a way which is making them feel the heat.

The real beneficiary is the Indian media.

There are no beneficiaries in human suffering.

Pity the one who even have to ask such a question and shame on those who argue over it.

Just saying.....

Your sentiment is valid but ill suited viz a viz the discussion.
Loss of life is regretted everywhere.

There are 2 distinct narratives in India -

1. Sit down and talk - jaw jaw is better than war war
OR
2. Pakistan is not doing well economically at all and its military is stretched - so for every bullet fired from Pakistan, fire 5 from here - increase the cost.

I for one would prefer if they spoke and people didn't die - on either side. While I of course feel terrible about loss of Indian life - I do realize that the Pakistanis losing their lives also have families and are also acting out a sense of patriotism - so it's nothing to cheer about.

I wonder how many Pakistanis know that sometime in either the 1950s or 1960s - India had actually offered a significant amount of land to Pakistan in Kashmir to solve the issue once and for all during the Swaran Singh -Bhutto talks but Bhutto also wanted Ladakh.

No one gains when lives are lost.

India.
The fighting is far-away from mainland India, so only Kashmiri citizens are affected. This scenario benefits Indians as they don't consider Kashmiris as humans anyway.
Financially Indians can afford to occupy that region as long as it takes.
Unfortunately, freedom will only come after many more deaths.

Yup the first approach suits Pakistan as well.

Every since 26/11 India has been firing on all guns and has successfully shamed Pakistani terrorism across the world. Of course Pakistanis haven't helped themselves, but this is the new India. A country that finds more backing than Pakistan in the world. A country's clout that cannot be dismissed anymore and a country continually growing as a military power. India is not interested in talks anymore given the deceiving nature of previous ones. We will engage more forcefully as and when we please. Wait and watch.
