Who is the anti-national in India ?

I believe Rahul and the Congress should form an umbrella alliance with the progressive groups : the Left and the Centrists ( AAP, Swaraj Abhiyan, TMC, JD ( S ), BSP etc ).

How in God's name are any of those progressive?
Communism has worked many times before

Like where, plz don't say China it is communist only in name while in reality more capitalist than many western countries.

The Hindutva right-wing groups ( BJP, RSS etc ) in India and their many supporters in the visual and print media, on Twitter and on various websites are fond of assigning the phrase "anti-national" and so demonizing certain groups who either revolt against the right-wingers or don't fit into the category of Indians as understood by the Hindutvadis. Such groups include Muslims, Dalits, Christians, Socialists / Communists, Liberals, Centrists and recently the Sikh and other farmers protesting in Delhi.

But who is the real anti-national ? Is it the micro-finance company and the mahajan who force the farmer to commit suicide ? Is it the hospital which allowed the actor Ashiesh Roy to die of kidney ailment because he couldn't pay the treatment fees they demanded ? Is it the coaching center in Kota and the college which force students to commit suicide ? Is it the Maneka Gandhi adoring woman in my neighborhood who used to daily prepare special rice for the stray dogs and deliver it to them on her scooter while millions of humans in the country go hungry ? Is it Mukesh Ambani who built an obscene 27-storey for his family of four while millions are homeless or live in slums ? Is it Yogi Adityanath and Sadhvi Pragya who quote fondly from the Manusmriti and want to make it the Constitution ? Is it the Tablighi Jamaatis in IBM-India who instead of agitating for an employee union for the benefit of all employees instead agitate selfishly for prayer place and time within the office ? Is it some self-styled moral police who prevent inter-faith marriages from happening ? Is it the film maker Ashoke Pandit who makes films against the Naxalites without thinking of the unjust feudalism in Naxalbari which led to the Naxal uprising ? Is it various aalims and babas who spread superstition and child sacrifice in the society in 2021 instead of the country having a settlement on Mars given its big industrial base and supposedly talented engineers ? Is it the "defense" minister who has made the Indian military to become the second-largest importer of armaments in the world while millions of civilians lead a miserable life because of lack of money ? Is it some idiot at the top who spends resources on needless purchases and projects while millions of citizens lack money and so lead a miserable life ? is it the maintainers of the entire political, social and economic system of India which allows these wrong things ? So who is the anti-national ?

And off topic, about " Is it the Maneka Gandhi adoring woman in my neighborhood who used to daily prepare special rice for the stray dogs and deliver it to them on her scooter while millions of humans in the country go hungry ? "

Tell that to Russians who lived under Stalin

What about those Russians, Kazakhs etc who lived under Lenin ? And those who lived after Stalin ? And those Cubans who lived under Castro ? And those Egyptians who lived under Nasser ? And those Libyans who lived under Gaddafi ?

How in God's name are any of those progressive?

So who are the progressives in India ?

Like where, plz don't say China it is communist only in name while in reality more capitalist than many western countries.

Which is why in that "communist" country there are billionaires and then there are the poor and the middle class who cannot afford the medical cost in their own country and so have to come to India or other countries.

How can a country that desires to be communist have economic classification ?

What is your opinion about Bhagat Singh ? Do you think he would have approved or not approved of the Naxalites you seem to indicate ? To help you here is my thread on him from some months ago.

What about the Hindutvadis - Sadhvi Pragya and Lt. Col. Shrikant Purohit - who were involved in bombing in Malegaon and so were cause of loss of life ? What about another saffron criminal group, Sanatan Sanstha, which assassinated four progressives ?

Using fancy and fear-inducing words like "Republic of India" will not correct your incorrect opinion there.

Yeah, Hindutvadis have a special affinity towards stray dogs. And this assertion is not off-topic.

I wish they did, Stray dogs in India would have much better fate.

In all seriousness post the link.

Here's your post from the afternoon :
These farmer protests are a nuisance, they're inconveniencing people, causing losses to business. A proper lathi charge is in order to set them straight, tear gas the fuckers, water cannon their langar area, zapt karo their tractors and fancy SUVs and throw their leaders in jail. :butcher:
And we all have heard the words used by BJP for the farmers : agents of Pakistan and China, anti-nationals, Khalistanis etc.

I wish they did, Stray dogs in India would have much better fate.

There are 35+ million stray dogs in India ( as of a count from some years ago ), the result of Maneka Gandhi's order in the 90s BJP government saying that stray dogs should no longer be eliminated by city corporations.

The result, not only almost extinct status of cats but attacks and killings of humans. Some doctors are even using stray dogs to dispose of illegally aborted female fetuses by feeding the fetuses to the dogs. Very jugaad.

In all seriousness post the link.

There is no link. Like I said it was a woman in my neighborhood. I told her off and that seems to have stopped her.

My neighborhood in India, seems to be polar opposite, most houses have dogs, we just sterilized 7 stray dogs and one cat three months ago. The vet who did the work did not want to charge money and we had to insist for him to take the payment. The nice part was my family in India wanted to pay for all of it but our neighbors all chipped in not just with the fees but also with the work of rounding up all of the dogs which was challenging, some of them being skittish.

And now I have to take my pup here for her morning walk.

tc.

Yes, that is off-putting. You have a dog but sorry I don't want to see dogs in India. Or anywhere. Maybe there can be special dog reserves like there are tiger reserves. Maybe an island.

we just sterilized 7 stray dogs and one cat three months ago.

1. Sterilizing dogs will not take away their propensity to attack humans and cats.

2. You sterilize a few dogs in an area but there will be more coming in from outside. That restarts the cycle of dog births.

3. Sterilization of that cat... yaar, as it is, cats are almost extinct in India and on top of that you sterilized one.

but also with the work of rounding up all of the dogs which was challenging

Indeed.

Thank you.

@OP Anyone is anti-national who insists on ideologies other than betterment of the people which is actually not an ideology but a flexible and noble goal. Ideologies by definition are rigid and requires a great degree of belief. Also, ideologists are usually ignorant of contrary evidence and deal with it whataboutery (btw a communist invention as a modern propaganda tool), gaslighting and sometimes pure censorship which is actually harmful in the long run. Stopping my rant here by adding that, people who are rigid in their beliefs are anti-nationals and people who are open to change their mind and not fixated on a single (possibly failed/stupid) beliefs are not.

.
You first have to answer the question " Who is an Indian".

Well, as per Subramanian Swamy, Muslims are not to be equal citizens in India. Or anywhere where they are not in majority.

So how does that look like in theory and practice ? And who ?

whataboutery (btw a communist invention as a modern propaganda tool)

Really ?

Hopefully the global culling on conspiracy theories, fake news, loony theories on social media will finally force Indians to think in rational, logical and first principles manner....We never had an Age of Enlightenment cascading over whole of India...There was some sporadic Bengali Enlightenment but that's about it

Well, any kind of extremist is a danger for starters that includes Saffronists, Marxists, Maoists, Islamists Jihadists and so on. For practical examples, you can invoke Lee Kuan Yew well known for exceptional pragmatism..

Whataboutism is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda.[4][5][6] When criticisms were leveled at the Soviet Union during the Cold War, the Soviet response would often be "What about ..." followed by instancing of an event or situation in the Western world.[7][8][9] According to Russian writer, chess grandmaster and political activist Garry Kasparov, it is a word that was coined to describe the frequent use of a rhetorical diversion by Soviet apologists and dictators, who would counter charges of their oppression, "massacres, gulags, and forced deportations" by invoking American slavery, racism, lynchings, etc.[10] Whataboutism has been used by other politicians and countries as well.

What about areas of Muslim majority? Do they get to be Brahmin? Its legally possible in India to be Dalit in one state and Brahmin in others. Complex stuff.

Does the Indian constitution define who is an Indian? I am talking about pre A370 A35 and the other systematic legislature brought by the current BJP government?
