Which version of MiG-29 operated by IRIAF?

NOOOO, please let me believe that childish piece of western propaganda, fitting an RD33 engine in an F5!!!

Certainly I don't believe the Russia which abandoned all of its military agreements with Iran, such as Shafaq fighter/trainer project and even S300 which was a defensive weapon, would upgrade any shit for Iran, IRAF has upgraded it's assets, through domestic capabilities or black market, I have zero doubt in that, but you better leave your habit of believing whatever b.s news which you find on the web.

50 engines were purchased and delivered for Iran's MiG-29!!!!!!!!!! Now you are free to believe whatever you like!!
Now the writer of the article may be speculating as to what the engines were used for that's irrelevant!
But ~$150 Million USD contract was for 50 new RD-33 engines that Iran used for it's MiG's!!!

again BELIEVE what you like!!!

24? Nah 30 of them active

Including the MiG's from Iraq, Iran has about 44 of them
14 MiG-29A Delivered in 1990
20 MiG-29A/UB Delivered in 1991
6 MiG-29A/UB Delivered 92-93
Plus a handful of Iraqi MiG's that flew to Iran!
Between 2000-2013 Iran has made various purchases for MiG-29 Parts, Components, upgrades and weapons!
Iran also had plans to purchase an additional 50 MiG-29 in the late 90's early 2000's which was blocked by the U.S.!
Today about 24 MiG-29's are in Active Service. Clearly Iran has more combat ready MiG-29's in storage but that's how many are in Active Service.

You sure 24? Ruaviation said almost 36 were in service back in December 2015

maybe not all of them were added to the Migs?
maybe some of them were used for reverse engineering
like ~5 engines were just used for dismantling, to study them, to copy them

Probably non of them were bought or delivered.

All 50 Engines were delivered I know that for an absolute FACT and they were for Iranian MiG-29's again you are fee to believe what you like!

As for taking the engines apart and putting them back together that's just a given if you can't do that then you can't repair your engines! But the new engines were replacement for the older engines so they would have plenty of older engines to attempt a reverse engineering project with!

To reverse engineer an engine like the RD-33 and produce it Iran's main problem would mainly be in metallurgy & advanced composites like high end CMC or else reverse engineering any of the individual components at Iran's level of technology is not that complicated
