What's new

which province is China's poorest province? The answer is Guizhou.

It's good for GuiZhou province ... but for the poorest province in China, such huge project will cost huge money, they strongly need BeiJing's support.:agree: Anyways GuiZhou did a right way, good luck to them.

No, pic of other developed province in China.
Yes, even they have only one car we need build for this one car a brand new expressway. FOR THE FUTURE.
I personally have driven from Huaihua of Hunan to Zhenyuan of Guizhou through Shanghai-Kunming Expressway, an epic journey indeed, like flying through valleys and hills.

HSR lines and expressways in Guizhou will never achieve profitability. But for social equality and economic development, central government got to take full responsibility.
Not necessary, if the tourist booms and more migrant work used it. You will be surprised it become profitable.

I don't care it is profitable or not, the point is these lines are extremely beneficial to the society and people even it is not profitable.

The Opening Day of Guiyang–Guangzhou High-Speed Railway

This line traverses 270 tunnels and 510 valleys across the karst landscape.Bridges and tunnels account for 83% of the line's total length, including 92% in Guizhou Province.A total of 238 tunnels, totaling 464 km, were built along route including nine tunnels over 10 km in length. The longest tunnel, through the Yan Mountain in Rongjiang, is 14.693 km.
My Advices
If u want travel by this line, buy tickets AHEAD OF TIME as long as possible. For the first month of this line, passengers per train was 730 ( one CRH2A has 610 seats).

This HSR line made these Cantonese's dream of traveling to the remote regions in Guizhou come true.
They avoided from overpriced air tickets and previous 20-hour overnight trains.

yes, i've watched the news, amazed by the connectivity increase.
it's now 4-5 hours from Guiyang to Guangzhou, which is very quick and convenient indeed, certainly can boost economy of Guizhou with more business & industries utilizing cheaper land and labor there. this was without doubt good news for Guiyang people, and Guizhou province's overall development.

That's it ... a new High-speed Raiway between GuiZhou province(the poorest province) and GuangDong province(the richest province) will boost local economy.

I thought it was Tibet.

4th from the bottom at some 6000 US dollars

I think China calls for at least 50,000 km HSR in total mileage. As of 2015, it will increase to 20,000km. And some second or third lines, new lines in midwestern China and intercity networks in city clusters are in urgent need.

Even it is Guizhou, the most poor province of China, is competitive with Vietnam in terms of main economic indexes.
Soon, Vietnamese people will cry why we are not Chinese.
Dude, they are not comparable. Guizhou has no big plains, big rivers or coastlines.

Why Vietnamese must cry, because they aren't Chinese ?

Guizhou doesn't need coastlines necessarily. Guizhou has almost best environment and climate among provinces. Guizhou isn't export trade economy. Tourism, retirement destination, health, education and hi-tech industry is the future of Guizhou.

It has countless tourism resources. Transferring low-end factories to Guizhou will be disastrous.
