Which aircraft will have a deep affect on the power balance between IAF and PAF

NEWS Coming from different sources India once again made the Aircraft market in action for its new single Engine "Made In India" Induction as Rafale cost much not only because of its price tag nut also for operations and maintainance.
There two possible Single Engine Options 1- F-16V, 2- SAAB Gripen

Till Now Pakistan has nothing to face raflae then how we will counter any one of the mentioned above.
Total No. of Operational F-16 in PAkistan is 76 while india has the Requirement of 100 aircrafts and I fear of that block 70.. That will be something extraordinary.

Now Which will hurt more to us a Gripen or a F-16.??
Also It is a big threat for China.... We operate F-16 blk 52 we know their capability.... and that blk 70:suicide:
What China will do to counter.?

A F-16V During Flight test..
IT will be equipped with SABR AESA and SNIPER POD.

Cockpit and avionics
The advanced glass cockpit of the F-16V incorporates upgraded mission computer, and state-of-the-art avionics, including colour multi-function displays, a large high-resolution centre pedestal display (CPD), helmet-mounted cueing system, and a high-volume, high-speed data bus.

The CPD enhances situational awareness of the crew by supporting real-time processing and imaging of flight safety data. The F-16V is also equipped with an upgraded programmable displays generator, a Link-16 theatre data link, identification friend or foe (IFF) and HF/UHF/VHF radio communications.

The single, high-performance, modular mission computer (MMC) on the F-16V is a replacement of the three original computers. It provides higher computing power to the avionics and weapon systems, while offering improved situational awareness, air-to-air strike performances, accurate targeting and information capabilities. The gigabit ethernet-based architecture enables the control of electronic warfare displays and avionics systems of the aircraft.

"The Viper configuration is available as a new production aircraft, while a components upgrade is also being offered to the existing F-16 versions."
The advanced fighter jet is also fitted with precision GPS navigation and automated ground collision avoidance system (AGCAS), which provides the pilot with alerts of imminent collision with the ground and controls the aircraft to avoid a collision in case of pilot's unresponsiveness to visual cues.

F-16V weapon systems
The F-16V can be armed with a range of air-to-air missiles (AAMs), including AIM-9 Sidewinder, Magic II and ASRAAM short-range AAMs, as well as AIM-7, Sky Flash and AIM-120 medium-range AAMs. The high off-bore-sight, infrared AAMs such as AIM-9X, Python IV, AIM-132 ASRAAM and IRIS-T will also be offered.

The aircraft also supports the integration of AGM-119/AGM-84/AGM-65G anti-ship missiles, and AGM-65 Maverick air-to-ground tactical missile, as well as Paveway laser-guided bombs, GBU-15 bombs and wind corrected munitions dispenser weapons.

Targeting and countermeasures of Viper fighter
The AESA radar aboard the aircraft enables all-weather targeting, and offers high-resolution detection and imaging of land-based targets. The phased array radar allows the simultaneous application of air-to-air and air-to-surface modes.

The onboard Sniper advanced targeting pod (ATP) offers high air-to-surface and air-to-air targeting capability to the F-16V. It supports the launch of all laser-guided and GPS-guided weapons against multiple stationary and moving targets. The aircraft can be integrated with FLIR/laser system, and reconnaissance and navigation pods.

The Viper fighter is equipped with upgraded electronic warfare equipment and modern threat warning systems, including jammers, threat warning receivers, electronic countermeasures equipment pods, as well as chaff and infrared flare dispensers to defend the most dangerous threats in complex battlefield scenarios.

Engine
The fighter jet is powered by a single Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 or a General Electric F110-GE-129 turbofan engine. The F100-PW-229 develops a thrust of 29,100lb, whereas the F110-GE-129 generates a power of 29,500lb. The power-plant provides the aircraft with a maximum speed of Mach 2 and a range of 1,740nmi.

Here starts the speculation. I will comment when the contract is signed. I am afraid I am not be alive to see the day.

Let the indian bull shitters sign a contract and receive planes before we respond

If we went with indian bull shit in 2007 we were supposed to be facing 150 Tejas and 123 Rafael's by now

In the meantime keep adding and improving JF17s and work out which platform(s) will suit us next

What threat by Indian? We have J-20 and its full stealth fighter jet. It shall be Indian more worry of Chinese than we need to worry about them. IAF is never a threat to Chinese. We are always a step ahead of them. We made our own fighter including all avionics like all major powers while IAF can only buy. :enjoy:

PAF just need to buy J-31 V2 and problem solved.

For me Even than Rafale this procurement will put India and Pakistan Airforce to a different level. India want to keep its most of the heavy weights against China. Right now we can't do it. But with this procurement am sure single engine fight fleet will touch more than 400 in numbers. With 120 +100 Tejas

If I was a Pakistani I won't say like it's not signed etc etc. This new government want to prove to be robust government and best government for India's security.

If I remember correctly. When BJP came to power Modi had his plans. First to repair for the next 2-3 years. Like filling our ammunition, repairs, preparation etc and then go for more capabilities. As you see they did as they said. Now it time for big bang procurements.

Gripin hold edge with Meteor missile? Will will be a common platform for rafale, and may be Mirage? But F16 will give more confidence and make Chinese more insecure than PAF. PAF mastered F16 for decades. Meanwhile IAF always practiced to kill F16. So I guess gripin will be selected. But if only if Americans put huge pressure on India and with decent TOT we could go for F16 if lots of high tech goodies.

As per some reports India is going to retire its old migs & possibly replace them with F16 70/72 or Griphen ng. So India is going to have a very strong airforce & that to a modern one in 15+years time.

Mean while in Pakistan all we are seeing is endless corruption & corrupt politicians pushing Pakistan backwards in full force.

Aren't we already operating so many different platforms like SU-30, MiG, Mirage, Rafale,, Tejas etc? Why add one more?

To be frank, given the rate at which India takes a decision to shortlist an aircraft would take years. Thereafter, the negotiations would take a couple of more years and this time it is more like setting up a production line with ToT which itself is a time consuming issue if given to govt organizations like HAL but if LM or SAAB decides to partner with a private entity, the setting up of production line can be fastened. I guess by the time the above mentioned aspects get started, full scale production of J-31 would start where PAF could easily buy them as J-31 is developed primarily to target export market. Coming to which of the above two birds will be a bigger threat, I guess the Gripen-NG would be more difficult to counter given its advanced avionics and no matter how advanced the F-16 is, it is still the same air frame and PAF has decades of experience using the F-16 and are well versed with it's capabilities and except for BVR combat in which F-16IN Block-70/72 may have a decisive advantage but PAF pilots will have an upper hand when it comes to dog fights given their experience with Falcons.

On a different note, I'm not really sure why IAF is planning to induct another platform which only toughens the procurement of spares and maintenance and US jets always being sanction prone and they come with a lot of strings attached. While most countries are moving to 5th gen platforms particularly the two major adversaries IAF may face in the future will be inducting J-20/J-31 & TFX possibly and they are all 5th gen fighters, there is no point trying to induct a 4th gen given the time frame the first Gripen or F-16 is inducted into IAF. It is better to add one more squadron of Rafales and develop the Kaveri GTX in a couple of variants with Dassault and install them in Tejas Mk-1A and Mk2 along with AMCA and hand over the production lines to private firms to ramp up production & quality and finalize the deal with Russia regarding PAK-FA/FGFA.
