listen to ashoka movie....THAT was Hindi....

I watched it with English subtitles as I didnt understand half of the Hindi so no your movies are not in Hindi! I can understand 3 idiots, Gajini and all others but couldnt understand that and some of those that speak Hindi
Some of these movies may use words that sound alien to your ears.

Most of the Indian movies are in Hindi. It just sounds similar to Urdu, to you. I think, Tamil and Telugu movies come next.

I think Indian films and drama serials are in mixture of Urdu/Hindi but classical Ramayana serial was in pure Hindi/Sanskrit which I even could not understand. The Pakistani Urdu serial "Zindagi Gulzar Hai" was hit in India. It also has fan base even in Nepal where they understand some Hindi.

yea even common words are alien to me....Like saying shannaywar - No idea which day of the week that is nor any of the other! And those are common words but not Urdu!

We have 500+ channels cable service in Toronto and some are Indian. I saw it for few minutes and I am not a fan of reading subtitles when watching movies/dramas so I switch to other channels. The costumes were also more like Mughal period than ancient India. In that era, men wore only Lungi and women also wore less as shown in most paintings and sculptures but the actors in Ramyana wore dresses like in the Mughal period.

Even I don't know what that means :P

Ramayana as shown on that serial is like Indian soap epera which has camera shots showing expressions and reaction of everyone at least three times than a historically correct serial. I only commented on what I saw.

. .
all other movies where such words are not used....like in KKHH, KKKG, Gajini, even in Debangg I didnt understand some words...
damn..you get time to watch so many movies.
I can hardly remember, when was my last time.
Probably, it was the last Fast and Furious. After watching that movie, I had forgiven Rohit Shetty.

In case you are wondering, Rohit Shetty is an Indian director, who is infamous for creating gravity defying stunts in his movie.
