@ Niaz: Despite the above, I heard Imran Khan claiming on the Geo TV (Guest of the bigot Hamid Mir, who else) in the Capital Talk last night that Taliban danger is being portrayed totally out of proportion. ...
Imran Khan is not worth giving an ear to actually, not even worth looking at now But we can't disagree with the fact that the Taliban have been allowed to proliferate by the state/military to acquire aid. There is no other way of running this country or so they like to think. But the Taliban threat cannot be ignored... it's happening right here in Karachi.
Unfortunately Geo TV is helping Taliban by inviting hypocrites politicians such as Imran Khan...
Geo is just doing what it should be: representing and giving air-time to all sides. Isn't the media supposed to be unbiased?
You can't have a channel chose sides. :Azn:
It's like the Taliban asking journalists to give them positive coverage.
I will also disagree with this statement by Imran Khan being a ploy to get votes from people opposing the war, I doubt it. He still aligns himself with the right-wingers, so it doesn't really change his politics. The people aren't confused they know who to side with. You have those who like the Taliban, army's interference in the governance of this country, Imran Khan's politics, Islamisation of the country and then there are those who oppose each of these. The only difference is that the former are proactive when it comes to registering their voice, the latter go by the "dilli door hai" adage
