Divya JI why the hell do you even want to make them understand? don't waste your time :)

Yeah Divya.. Leave that kid alone...for u'standing mature matters one should have that mind..

LOL ...:rofl: This is what we call the height of arrogance.....

Women have rights of inheritance in hinduism too. Read it up

Point out one single historical source claiming Polygamy was wildspread in ancient India.

and of course .....

Burning temples , demolishing Buddhists universities , religious conversion by force , enforcing burkas and such restrictions - is very human and civilized .

Face it. The invaders were tyrants solely concerned with raping , pillaging , looting subcontinental wealth and converting the indigeneous population at sword point. Given all the historical evidence - I'm surprised you expect us not to bash them .

nobody needs to read your scriptures, what actually happened in india, is most imp, if u make pornish temples then you are made to be invaded and then corrected

When the mindset is itself twisted.. that is what you understand of it..
Apparently.. liberal to most here means being as.. "open" as possible.
be it culture, clothes.. or nightly habits..

Sex has not been taboo for many people..
but just as one would choose who it is appropriate to make humor regarding feces and urine to..
it was always kept to certain quarters..
Sex education is important..
But too much of a good thing.. and then it ends up at the same level as taking a crap..
After all.. these are bodily functions as well..

Were there not courtesans before?
Is the Kamasutra not part of the history of the subcontinent??

But was it written for private reading.. or a mass sermon?

Perhaps Ive yet to make another trip to my ancestral town..
its been a while.. maybe this time ill find people riding the dehli metro in G-strings.... both the sexes.. and the middle ones as well.
After all.. since the Taliban next door are ethically and morally corrupt..
and their women are enslaved to this foreign religion..
Lets show them how progressive India is.. lets liberate our bodies..

Divvya's post.. is pretty close to what I am trying to say..
Sharam.. laaj gehna..
in mein se kuch bhi nahin pehna isnt the idea..
Whats left of India that is Indian then??

You want to wear jeans.. shorts.. etc.
sure.. I never object.. or mind it..
But the more I find twisted American or fake british accents..
Getting into sex and booze.. because that is what you saw on 90210..
that is where it goes wrong..
this.. twisted liberal has his parties..
dances.. and all..
But knew where he was losing what distinguished him from a high schooler in wisconsin.. he drew the line.

As is said men should not go to office in women undergarments either but are at liberty of wearning anything they like...

same goes for women that they dont roam around in bikinis or G strings or whatever....

Today we have access for sex education but not back then, and parents are not always a good choice to talk about birds and bees.........

i think the debate began when you foolish member divua brought insultng islamic remarks into sane discussion

It began much, much before when you linked a cultural practice like wearing burkhas to the religion Islam . Just because you are used to a different culture and different meaning of modesty doesn't mean everyone's views are the same ....and the decent thing in a debate is to allow everyone the space to express their views .

There is no specific mention of a burkha in the Quran , isn't it mentioned that " women should dress modestly " ...?

@Santro:

C'mon man, you are allowing someone(Sayonara) who joined today or yesterday to go on ranting and raving? This was such a harmless thread about what changes I have seen in urban India over the last few years.

@topic: Keep it light guys and girls..... Forget the haters. We know the story of the 'sour grapes' right? Leave it be.

And walk upto all the girls you see wearing shorty shorts and express your support to them in their struggle against male chauvinism and hardline fundamentalism:-)

I hate you guys..
wont even let me have fun.. :cheesy:

But .. lets take this seriously..
what would trigger an eve tease..
shorts or the Burka??
