When are you going back to Arabia?’: Chinese Muslims became the target of online hate

For example, 90% of Chinese know Pakistan is iron brother, but only 30% of them know Pakistanis are Muslim.
This is kind of hard to digest for me.
The entire world knows that Pakistanis are majority Muslim.
Chinese regard Pakistan as Friendly but will that feeling change if they get to know that Pakistanis are muslim?

We know that Pakistan is a Muslim country, but we also know that the citizens of Pakistan are our brothers...
Like, we know that India is our enemy, but if Indians come to China, we still regard them as friends.

I'm glad to see more and more Indians come to China, they have a better life, and occasionally can participate in the reality show.
Recently, Jiangsu TV.

Please stop. The people that are killing innocent people are not Muslim, so do not refer to God. Muslims are peace loving people. Muslims of China love China, and they are great people with best food and hospitality.
Personally I love Islamic food and some of my closest friends are Muslims.

I can also understand why some Chinese react adversely to muslims who are flashy with symbols of religion, it's fear. China is a country where religion is rarely put at the forefront, even for many believers. People generally interact with each other without prejudice of religion since everyone respects the status quo. In recent years there are many extremist groups who brutally attack people thus breaking the status quo, and who proclaim themselves as Muslims and wish to spread Islam by the sword. Weather they are true Muslims or not is not the first thought of the people, its "how do we stay safe". There is no deep rooted negative feeling towards any religion in China but defensive towards any entity wishing to radically change the fabric of Chinese society/culture.

With all due respect to the quoted Pakistani Muslims (assuming) members below, why this blind love for chinese? WHy the muslim citizens of the Islamic republic of Pakistan as represented by PDF so blatantly oblivious to the atrocities committed by chinese CCP on fellow Muslim chinese brothers and sisters in Uighur? Why this blatant denial? Is it because the chinese are showering billions into PAK? But that should never ever impede a Muslim's personal commitment to justice because:

- You being in the virtual world of PDF won't effect the diplomacy between china & pakistan. Rest assured CCP high command is NOT reading PDF and even if they do they won't mistake you for being representative of PAK goverment.

- Are you scared of standing up against the chinese CCP bots on PDF? Is placating them more important to you than your Islam and the love that Islam demands you to have for your fellow chinese Muslim brothers & sisters?

- DO you think the Chinese are as innocent as a lamb and showering billions into PAK for 0 self-interest? Rest assured the chinese will take their pound of flesh in return for the investment they are making. I just hope that pound of flesh does NOT cost Pakistan dearly and that the cooperation is mutually beneficial for PAK.

- Just because of money you would sell your morals? Then what's the difference between you and the materialist non-muslims? If you overlook even at the individual and societal level the atrocities chinese are committing then how in the world would you Pakistani Muslims be ummatan wasata - just and best of Nations.

“Thus We have made you [true Muslims — real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways)], a just (and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad) be a witness over you”

[al-Baqarah 2:143]

- It may very well be the responsibility of Muslims Pakistanis in contact with chinese to give them the message of islam. On the day of resurrection many ordinary chinese may very well complain to Allah (swt) that they did NOT get the message from ordinary pakistani Muslims who utterly failed to represent islam.

- Allah (swt) tests people with wealth and materialistic abundance. The chinese pouring billions may very well be a test for Pakistani Muslims.

- What would the fair minded chinese think of your reaction to chinese Goverment atrocities on Muslims? They would form either of the 2 opinions regarding Muslim Pakistanis:
1) What their goverment is doing is right since even their fellow Muslims (pak) is NOT saying anything.
2) These Muslim Pakistanis are spineless who can't stand up for their beliefs.

Either way you would never be respected by the chinese.

- And last but NOT least where is the consistency? If you blatantly deny chinese atrocities on Muslims, what right do you have to point fingers at Trump , america, Modi etc etc? The CCP in china is as as much bad as trump or Modi if NOT more. The characteristic of a Muslim is that he/she is consistent against all forms of injustice.

Btw don't get me wrong. I hate the hindutvadis and they are some of the most anti-islamic people on earth. But I don't need to whitewash Chinese atrocities on Uighurs to condemn and oppose Indian atrocities on Kashmir. A muslim must be consistent and take a Islamically principled stance on such issues at all levels - personal, social and national. To me its simply baffling that Muslims Pak members who are rightfully very vocal against atrocities of US, India, Israel etc, go painfully silent or even worse white wash inhuman chinese atrocities against Muslims. And they do it on a individual level on the virtual world of PDF? :hitwall:What are you afraid off really? The chinese bots on PDF ?

I just hope the Pak civilian, Military and Religious leaders are NOT like the educated Pakistani citizens as represented on PDF and other social media.

Btw please don't get me wrong my fellow PAK brothers. I am an outsider but as a Muslim I wish good for Pakistan so I had to write this post. This appeasement of CCP chinese on PDF is very shameful IMHO.
Muslims in China, than Muslims in US, Europe, India? You said that we like Gujarat massacre atrocities? Or like Burma treat Rohingya? Or like India police used 12-gauge shotguns loaded with metal pellets that directly caused an estimated 5,200 injuries and at least a dozen fatalities? Or like a white police use m4-a1 against their head?

At least, as long as they don't commit crimes, Muslims in China can even marry a beautiful and young African wife.
The 68 year old Chinese man married 22 year old African bride

So... Do you hide the flag for fear that others will know your country's atrocities against Muslims?

Whata the point if this thread?

This is lame excuse to brush the dirt under the carpet .

Muslims are faced with many difficulties in China let us accept this fact.

When it comes to curbs on religious freedom of Muslims and hate towards them there is no difference between India and China but we opt to bash India while ignore China.

You think India and China are equal when it comes to hate against Muslims?

Is that why Modi is the Prime Minister of China after butchering thousands of Indian Muslims on the streets of Gujarat? Is that why China has killed tens of thousands of Kashmiris over the past few decades, buried them in massive unmarked graves, and is currently shooting Kashmiri kids down on the street for protesting against Indian rule?

If you think that is equal then I am pretty shocked. But you have a right to your opinion, and perhaps Pakistan should be allying with India instead of China, just like Ayub Khan offered to do in the 1960's?

China's Communist Party hardens rhetoric on Islam
Regional Chinese officials make repeated warnings about threat of religious 'extremism' during meeting in Beijing.

  • Islam, with top officials making repeated warnings about the spectre of global religious "extremism" seeping into the country, and the need to protect traditional Chinese identity.

Sharhat Ahan, a top party official in Xinjiang, on Sunday became the latest official from a predominantly Muslim region to warn political leaders gathered in Beijing that the "international anti-terror situation" is destabilising China.

Officials from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, which has an ethnic Hui population that is predominantly Muslim, warned similarly this past week about the perils of "Islamic extremism".

READ MORE: Is China changing its policy towards Uighur Muslims?

Speaking at a regional meeting open to the media, Ningxia Communist Party secretary Li Jianguo drew comparisons to the policies of US President Donald Trump's administration to make his point.

"What the Islamic State and extremists push is jihad, terror, violence," Li said. "This is why we see Trump targeting Muslims in a travel ban.

"It doesn't matter whether anti-Muslim policy is in the interests of the US or it promotes stability, it's about preventing religious extremism from seeping into all of American culture."

Over the past year, President Xi Jinping has directed the party to "Sinicise" the country's ethnic and religious minorities.

Regional leaders in Xinjiang, home to the Muslim Uighur ethnic minority, have also ramped up surveillance measures, police patrols and demonstrations amid fear of violence blamed on Muslim groups.

Although some scholars question whether global armed networks have penetrated China, top Chinese officials are increasingly echoing calls to counter "extremism".

News of growing anti-Islam sentiment come as the South China Morning Post published a story about the growing popularity of similar anti-Islam expressions online targeting young Chinese Muslims.

News of growing anti-Islam sentiment are also spreading in the predominantly Hui Muslim community in Ningxia [File: Reuters]
Wu Shimin, a former ethnic affairs official from Ningxia, said that ideological work must be strengthened in the region to promote a Chinese identity among its Hui population, the descendants of Muslim traders plying the Silk Road centuries ago.

"The roots of the Hui are in China," Wu said. "To discuss religious consciousness, we must first discuss Chinese consciousness. To discuss the feelings of minorities, we must first discuss the feelings of the Chinese people."

The Communist Party has long viewed religion with suspicion but has generally granted a fair degree of religious freedom to its Hui minority, especially in their heartland of Ningxia, where mosques dot the skyline.

The party has kept a far tighter grip over Xinjiang's Uighurs -- who have a language, culture and physical features that are more closely linked to Central Asia -- partly due to the existence of a decades-old separatist movement.

Mohammed al-Sudairi, a doctoral student at the University of Hong Kong, said "there's a strengthening trend of viewing Islam as a problem in Chinese society."

WATCH: The plight of the Uighurs (2:20)

"Xi Jinping has been quite anxious about what he saw as the loss of party-state control over the religious sphere when he entered power, which necessitated this intervention. I don't think things will take a softer turn."

In Xinjiang, where hundreds of people have died in recent years in violent attacks, the government's rising rhetoric has coincided with new security measures that activists said exacerbate a cycle of repression, radicalisation and violence.

The government, meanwhile, said Xinjiang faces a grave separatist threat from Uighur fighters allegedly linked to al-Qaeda and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), though it provides little evidence for such claims.

ISIL released a video in late February purportedly showing Uighur fighters training in Iraq and vowing to strike China, according to the SITE Intelligence Group.

On Friday, Xi met Xinjiang officials, according to state media, and directed them to safeguard the region's stability by erecting a metaphorical "great wall of iron", a reference to the military response following the pro-democracy protest in Tiananmen Square in 1989.

China hardens rhetoric against "extremism", not against Islam. :disagree:

And look at how much India cares about Muslims, after electing a mass murderer of Muslims to be their Prime Minister, and after butchering tens of thousands of Kashmiri protestors over the past few decades. And to top it off, they are STILL shooting down dozens of Kashmiri protestors over the last few months, including a young kid just a few days ago for protesting against them.

When the Indian Prime Minister has butchered thousands of Muslims on the streets of Gujarat, while his fanboys cheer for him, and countless numbers of Kashmiris in unmarked graves, they are now complaining about whether or not Muslims in China are allowed to have beards. And the answer is yes, they can have beards, as you can clearly see in the video above.

oops, India is equal to china? but you only accepted the half the truth. When you think about anti India bias that will always be a problem. Muslims in India barring few incidents have had more freedom whether you like it or not. Well 200million cannot be wrong.

by the way godless firends across the border are onto some thing.

The Chinese Communist Party is making a cardinal fault here. The reason why the Uigur uprise in East Turkestan isn't very successful is the lack of a genuine partner/supporter in the Chinese society. They're doing exactly the same mistake the Russians did in Chechenya.

Until now, the Hui Chinese (Chinese Muslims) were really surprisingly loyal and faithful to Peking. They even helped the Chinese to oppress conflicts in East China and Tibet.

The current situation is very dangerous for China. All this fuss is drawing attention to the situation of Muslims in China in the Islamic world.

And yet dozens of Kashmiri Muslim protestors were gunned down by India over the past few months, with countless more blinded by pellet guns.

The Middle East is rife with Muslims killing other Muslims, in Syria, in Iraq, in Afghanistan, across the entire Middle East and North Africa region.

America and NATO have killed around 1 million innocent Muslim civilians in Iraq ALONE. That's not even counting the rest of the conflicts. Westerners are dropping more bombs on the Middle East than they did during the entire European theater of WW2.

And yet somehow it's all about whether or not Chinese Muslims are allowed to have beards? Yes they can have beards, as the video above clearly shows.
