Whats your baradari or tribe?

We also have three villages of syeds. In 18th century, an internal war broke out between two factions of marwats...syeds from bannu were asked to settle in the area that lies between two factions. This "syed settlement" acted as buffer zone between two warring factions of marwats. We dont know their exact origin but they are different in traits, have higher tendency towards education and relatively more liberal, also they do not have any martial tendencies. They use "shah" at the end of their names. They are only non-marwat people who were given such large strip of land free of any cost. Unlike punjab and sindh, syeds among us are not given any special treatment. They are not at the top in social status.

I get that quite often haha. Youl find a lot of Kambohs in Ichra and Andron Shehr of Lahore but other than that not so many in the rest of the country. We are supposedly close to Arains.
(Kamboh (name) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are about 800.000 Kamboh in Pakistan Punjab.

Yup, Mian and Chaudhry sounds like Arains.

Nope, they are Kamboj.

Kamboj - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chaudhry is just a title, we are also chaudhry.

Out of curiosity what is the "mian" supposed to signify? Chaudrys are of course landlords but is mian just an honorific title?

There are social classes that an Arain can change depending on occupation.
