Whats happening to US Economy? - Not Good!

i think its ok to spend on defence because its a superpower, but the real problem is that they are fighting some wars for no reason, seriously why would they attack Libya? gaddaffi if stubborn.

The Libya affair is Europe's baby.

US GDP growth history from 1992 till July 2011:

We do have a nasty little dip there. Try a chart from 1776. See then if you think we are going away. (hint...lots of dips, some worse, yet we are not only still here, we have become the most powerful.)

I do not underestimate US economy. The large dip indicates period of pure recession. US is now in recovery mode and it will take time. Their are certain challenges to take care of in the process though. Something should be done about the debt as well.

Those who think that recovery happens overnight are confirmed idiots. They have no idea about how economic cycle functions. They also have no idea about role of speculation in economy.

I believe that US needs a President who properly understands the dynamics of current economic challenges. Clinton did a good job. Bush did bad. Obama is trying to cover up the mess of Bush.

However, Obama is right: economic recovery will take time. People need to be patient.

It all depends upon how the cards are played.

american ingenuity (yankee ingenuity) was what made them big and powerful.

its gone......too busy with self imposed wars.

Here is what I see happening once the US economy starts to collapse:

People will wake up , and news will be reporting that stock market is taking a nose dive, people will head to banks and will start withdrawing cash.
Panicked banks will close down banks by mid day leaving alot of angry people with no way to take out funds.

There will be huge lines in all supermarkets to buy food

Obama will come on national TV , and announce that the federal banks are empty , and there is no money to pay federal employees, and all the public sectors will be closed down , and then army/police will be out as looters would have started rioting in cities to gather foot items by force.

Shortages will loom , and UN will start a urgent session to try to see if US can be lent some cash from Rich countries perhaps Russia and China.

The democrats and Republicans will blame each other, eventually the Republican states, many residents will pick up arms and demand that they be seperated from Latino influenced Democrats that promote illegal aliens.

Dollar value will plummet down , 1 Pakistani rupee will equal to 200 dollars , at the worse point in crisis.

The stock prices will be triggers as all the Jewish banks will move the funds out of USA , 1-2 days before the start of crisis , because they are 100% sure that US economy will be close to a total collapse.

US will be asking for oil from its Middle eastern friends, so that it can run the operation of economy

USA will eventually be split in 4 zones

Eastern states, Western states, Texas and perhaps central US.

Mostly the trouble will start from Southern states, where there lies , Americans who do not accept the democrats / yankees.

Yes it will be brutal and ugly when it will happen make sure to move your funds out of US before Auguest that is the end of day based on economy

People don't realize the severe nature of problem

The current economy is running on "BAIL OUT" and according to analyst that the 13-15 trillion dollars , would not even be paid off for another 30-40 years

Think about it logically

What will the jewish banks will do ? when they will see 100% chance US economy will be going bust you will see
billion dollars moving from out of US over night and that will just put a nail in coffin sorta speak and start the chain reaction

Think about it who would have imagined that USSR would fall in 70's but they went to idiotic war and lost territory ? So why is USA any different ?

** Tell tail signs

** Cancellation of Space program
** No money to pay federal employees including army units in Iraq, Afghanistan , or even bring them home
** Failing banks , many saved by Bail out of 700 billion dollars (borrowed time)
** Attempts to sell big military orders
** Cancellation of F22 raptors program , to save jobs in aeronautics F35 creates jobs

>>>> Saudia 80 billion dollars
>>>> India Posidon package 10-15 billion
>>>> MMRCA almost won 10 billion contract
>>>> Weapons sales to Japan
>>>> Sales to Tiwan 5-8 billion range
>>>> Potential sales to Australia

So after the weapons sales USA generated only 100 billion dollars

Lets look at the numbers

20,000,000,000,000 (20 trillion dollars projected debt by 2013)
xxxx10,000,000,000 (100 billion form weapons sales)

Can you imagine ? How much money has been stolen from USA , and who is lending $$$ to USA ??

I mean the debt was already huge , and then USA took a massive Bail out package 800 billion dollars?

Compare the 20,000,000,000,000 to pakistan's debt just mere 60 billion dollars , its like a spec of ink

Have you noticed recent ....NEWS ON CNN

USA imposed a ban on large guns recently because of fear that republicans might be arming themselves up for possible civil war coming soon , I mean there is not a proposed ban on large auto matic rifiles

I still cannot believe it why ...would you waste 20 Trillion dollars like this ....its unimaginable

The Great Depression had devastating effects in virtually every country, rich and poor. Personal income, tax revenue, profits and prices dropped, while international trade plunged by more than 50%. Unemployment in the U.S. rose to 25%

Current unemployment..9.2% (a hint...25% is greater than 9.2%, in any country. World trade has yet to drop 50% in this recession)

Other economic downturns have been called a "great depression", but none had been as widespread, or lasted for so long. Various nations have experienced brief or extended periods of economic downturns, which were referred to as "depressions", but none have had such a widespread global impact

Some journalists and economists have taken to calling the late-2000s recession the "Great Recession" in allusion to the Great Depression
(a recession is not a "depression")

you are not comparing like for like. Your missing the point the great depression is over. What we are now in is just the beggining. the worst is to come when the dollar is no longer the reserve currency. when that happens petrol in the us will go to 50 us dolars a gallon and the rest of the stats will be far worse.

Not saying the current situation isn't bad...just was correcting the post that claimed it was worse than the depression. If I found out Islam was the correct religeon..of course I would listen! Until then...agnostic.

Honestly Juice we have not seen the worse when the us dollar is no longer the reserve currency and with the fed looking at a third round of quantitive easing thats gonna be inevitable. Things will get bad for all of us but in particular US. The reason that we are happy about this is not cos we like economic suffering around the world even china will get hurt but because at least muslims wont get bombed around the world.

obvious from Pakistani's eyes (full of hate against US and India)!! but from an economists eyes, US will remain superpower both militarily and economically (2nd largest) at least for next half a century

This is crap. I dont hate US or india. in fact its you that hate pakistan and you cant take care of that small country with a big heart called pakistan you have to axxx lick americans in the hope they will sort out pakistan and protect you from China. And you dont like to hear that you may have backed the wrong horse.

I think the world will continue to move just as after USSR , just that USA will be probbly split in civil war due to republicans , and malitia army of Republicans

Here is free malitia in USA who is arming up in USA ...

USA army training to take on , local Militias

US GOVERNMENT PROPOSES BAN ON HEAVY GUNS

Washington (CNN) -- The federal government said Monday it is proceeding with a plan to require gun dealers in four Southwest border states -- California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas -- to report the sales of high-power rifles under certain conditions in an effort to stem the flow of guns to Mexican drug cartels.

Critics immediately called the move an illegal expansion of gun-control laws and an effort to divert attention from the "Operation Fast and Furious" gun controversy. And the National Rifle Association said it will file suit to stop the move.

Under the new policy, gun dealers in the four border states will have the same reporting requirements for certain long guns that gun dealers nationwide currently have for hand guns. They will be required to give purchaser information to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) if someone purchases two or more semi-automatic rifles in a five-day period, but only if the guns are greater than .22 caliber and have the ability to accept a detachable magazine.

If no investigative leads result from the information, the information will be purged in two years.

Deputy Attorney General James Cole said in a statement the new rule is tailored to focus on guns that "are highly sought after" by criminal organizations near the border.

The rule, he said, "will improve the ability of the (ATF) to detect and disrupt the illegal weapons transfers" from gun buyers in the U.S. to drug traffickers in Mexico and along the border.

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Maryland, praised the action, saying ATF agents testified to Congress recently they needed the ability to track weapons to disrupt the cartels.

Brady Campaign Acting President Dennis Henigan urged President Barack Obama "to do all in his power to protect this valuable new initiative from the gun lobby's inevitable efforts to attack it in Congress and the courts." He also called for stricter laws to prevent trafficking in the first place.

But critics called the action a "diversionary tactic" to take attention away from Congress's ongoing investigation into the "Fast and Furious" program, in which the ATF allowed people suspected of being straw-purchasers of weapons to sell their weapons, hoping to build bigger cases against Mexican criminal organizations.

"This political maneuver seems designed to protect the careers of political appointees at the Justice Department and not public safety," Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California, said in a statement.

The National Rifle Association agreed.

"This (Fast and Furious) has become a full-blown scandal, and I think they're trying to change the subject from Fast and Furious to something else," said NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre.

LaPierre said the action defies the clear intent of Congress regarding the reporting of gun sales.

"What you've got here is the Obama administration stepping into the shoes of Congress and essentially legislating," LaPierre said. "We are immediately filing lawsuit in federal courts."

LaPierre said the NRA would file suit as soon as the ATF delivers the first "demand letter" requiring a licensee to report the sale of a long gun.

LaPierre said the new rule is "an attempt to inch President Obama's (anti-gun) agenda down the road. Once they get into four states, they'll expand it to Tennessee, Rhode Island, Wyoming. I think it's a nose in the tent," he said.

The long-gun reporting proposal pre-dates disclosures about the "Fast and Furious" controversy. The ATF first published the proposal in the Federal Register, seeking public comment, on Dec. 17, 2010, and published a second notice on April 29, 2011, requesting public comments for 30 days.

But critics said the administration moved forward with the proposal to re-frame the "Fast and Furious" debate.

Rep. Cummings, meanwhile, said he plans to introduce legislation with Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-New York, to establish a dedicated firearms trafficking statute "to provide law enforcement with an additional tool to combat gun traffickers."

Cummings issued a report last month that recommended ATF collect reports of multiple long gun sales.

NOTE : Bill of rights in USA:

According to US laws, citizens are allowed to take up arms , to remind the government who is really in charge (people)

Second Amendment – Militia (United States), Sovereign state, Right to keep and bear arms.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

What this line states , in simple English is Americans can keep arms , and form groups who could challenge government if the government becomes out of line and uncontrollable force

All of the reports on US economic collapse are sensational and speculatory in nature.

Simple point is that US economy is under strain due to massive expenditure. WOT is just one of the things and it is expected to end by 2014.

Good thing for US is that revenue generation is not an issue for it. Reason is strong industry base and capability to tap in to its natural resources without external help.

US government needs to focus on how to control and reduce the state expenditure vis-a-vis to its annual revenue generation. If this happens, US can manage to pay off its debt and economic situation will immensely improve and recovery would be quick.

The republicans arming themselves for a revolution and Alex Jones videos!

Free militia!

Why do you think US is baning sale of more then 2 guns to its American citizens, and asking ppl to report the gun sales , selling guns has been allowed in USA since its formation.

It was formed on basis of guns in hand of citizens, and which is why its a protected right

This is a underground movement and if the American man is saying look US marines are getting ready and being trained to fight local militias that is news

Militias are a legal entity in US , its role is to force US government to not abuse rights as far as I understand what the concept was in bill of rights

But if you consider 77% Americans do not see how the country being run then there is a huge probability that civil war is possible

Now if you add the anger in public plus economy , and melt down that is just around the corner - and devaluation of dollar which will hit like a bag of potatoes .... when it will things will happen fast

I mean remember USSR how quickly it all evaporated a LARGE country that size 15-20 % territory lost due to independence movements

Don't be surprised

And remember this when US goes down India goes down with it , all those IT contracting and job stealing down the drain

US was formed on basis of a violent , war and military movement ( in modern terms terrorism against British government , I mean that is what they were called back then by British trouble makers)

So guns are part of culture as Diwali is to Indians

Currently US can be easily separated based on demographics and political views and cultural difference between Latinos and your normal Americans and of course blacks in country

When going gets tough - can you imagine the chaos in the already poor societies of Blacks, and Latinos yep we are talking Gang culture and power struggle

When there will be no bread in super markets - guess who will be getting the bread the guy with the biggest gun oh yeah ...
