Ok, I admit to having only cursory knowledge of Islam, certainly not super well read but I have a fair idea. Aaj kal logon ke paas time hi kahan hai to read old scriptures etc, go to any trendy new place and ask randoms of any denomination if they've read and abide by some old holy book(s) lol
In Hinduism/Dharma, I can tell you, there are waay waaay too many scriptures/books/tomes to even complete reading in a lifetime, let alone having an understanding of all that ancient and many times esoteric stuff. The priest class, some Brahmans, dedicate their life, no different from muslim Imams? and so on to understand and dispense that knowledge to the common folk and are also the ones who solemnize weddings, bless a new dwelling, or a new born... or perform last rites and so on.
I'm super irreligious myself but don't look down on religious folk, it is a spiritual anchor for many.. merai saath badsulooki mat kro, mujh se chori chakari, makkari mat karo.. and we're all good.. live and let live, ek hi mantra hai bhai.. very simple.
You should visit the golden temple for langar, and nizamuddin for jumma raat sufi singing and festivities/kebabs later, durga pooja carnivals for their pandals and food (get a lot of kebabs from joints called kabir and ali's etc there, btw lol)
most of all, stay chill.. let people do as they please, if they're actually wrong, they'll fall over themselves and hurt themselves.. the Hindus call it karma.
lmao
