What's new

Whatever

In Penang, an island of Malaysia and among few big cities. Do let me know, KL is hardly 5 hours drive, we can meet up.
how far is it from Langkawi?

I have particular interest to visit Langkawi one day Insha'Allah. Might do that at the end of this year

So from KL, if you drive towards North, Penang comes first, almost 5 hours drive from KL, you drive another three hours to reach Perlis (borders with Thailand) to take ferry to Langkawi. Easiest is to go by air. Hardly 45 min flight from KL. Langkawi is cheap, hotels, food etc. Nothing much there though except beaches, activities like scuba diving, boating, fishing etc.

right, chalo isi bahane Thailand bhi dekhne ko mil jaye ga if it's so close to Thailand.

Langkawi's beaches, cable car and sky bridge appeals like a wonderful attraction to me. I do plan to visit Kuala Lumpur for shopping as I heard it's comparatively cheaper place for electronic goods.

My wife loves scuba diving and she would kill me if I didn't experience in my trip to Malaysia... She literally gave me long lectures about her wonderful experience of Malaysia and it is something I want to experience too

Phir chuttiyan book kar ke rakhna.. we can go together :D

No Sir, Malaysia is very expensive compared to States even Singapore. For electronic items, I'll suggest States or Singapore. Ridiculous taxes are imposed here. Starting from last month 6% GST too.

Looks like chemistry our wives matches. We are planning to go to Langkawi in December too.

I saw some videos on YouTube where the guy who had come from Australia was praising Malaysia saying the electronic goods are far cheaper than Australia.

Also I bought one DSLR camera and Lens for around 1200 pounds which had been imported to China from Malaysia. The same camera would have cost me more than 25-40% more if purchased from UK. I do know the UK is more expensive than United States and generally the electronic goods sold in USA for $800 dollars cost £800 pounds or maximum £749 in UK. The currency exchange factory is often neglected in sales of electronic goods.

It would definitely buy a cheaper buy from Malaysia

Before coming here, I was in Atlanta so tend to compare prices with those in States. Compared to UK, quite possibly Malaysia is cheaper. However, even we (and Malaysian) go to Singapore to purchase electronic goods for Singapore is for sure cheaper than Malaysia.

@Shamain is right. Thailand is indeed cheaper but my wife goes there, well, to buy, No.1 quality counterfeit fashion accessories, you know what I mean. The quality of those is so ridiculously good that you wont be able to differentiate unless examine closely.

singapore bhi nazdeek hi hai... Who knows if I can visit all these places in the same tour as we hardly get time to visit that part of the world. I could probably go to Malaysia (spend most of my time over there), Singapore, Thailand and Brunei all in the same tour.

Oh wonderful, phir I will start planning soon... and let you know about the updates... Mera plan is very much "pakka" --- been to 16 countries already so you know that when I commit, I want to honour my commitment

It definitely is... I have heard about it too

Chalo kya faraq parta hai malaysia ho ya singapore, the bottom line is I would consider buying some electronic goods from that part of the world...

How much is a brand new iPhone 6 in Malaysia?

any idea?

and Nikon D7100 for example?

Achhi memory hai....Bcoz I really don't remember giving you gyaan on breakfast. But yeh baat Sach hai when it comes to breakfast I suggest not to skip it. Tumse shayad zyaada strictly keh Diya tha ki Tumhe Itni achi tarah woh baat yaad reh gayi. :-)
