Makes no difference this is just short term -- once things settle done, it will be back to business as usual. I edited my post above and would mention in hear as well, China offers economy of scale, which U.S. and other nations can't offer. Even after talking about bring manufacturing back to the U.S. or India for Apple; they decided to stick with China because none other could offer what China can -- economy of scale: man power, industrial capacity, and raw material and logistics within the country.
Eventually, it'll be all talk.
I hear you but would suggest you go beyond that. It is not gonna be business as usual. China's labor advantage is gone but the supply chain advantage was making it tough to throw them out. Now the virus aftermath has given impetus to start looking for and building alternate chains.
China is under no obligation to keep Italy safe and vice versa. I'm sure there are a lot of rats in China, but not a single one's azz is given by Beijing.
a gentleman by name Xi Jinping seems to be giving a lot of of those rats' organs. His legacy is shot and now the CCP is wondering how to minimize the damage coming out of the virus screw up and the emerging movement to cut China out of certain supply chains however expensive it may be
