What Muslim country is ideologically most similar to Pakistan?

Age of Ideologically based countries is long gone. These are all nation states perusing their economic interests and preserving their territorial integrity. No two countries are similar, unless they are insignificant

Pak is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Ranks at 120th. Strictly if Pak was guided by Islam principles this will not be the case. None of the indicators puts Pak in any reasonable good standing. Going by media reports rapes occurrences high in Pak with high incidence of paedophilia. Do not hide behind religion.

Pakistanis trying hard to project a good boy image is a very recent phenomena.

I know you are young, but there is no reason to be jealous of Pakistan-Turkish friendship. We are able to have alliances and good relations with many different countries at the same time. Our next greatest allies are Afghanistan (incoming government) and China.

As I said, the Turks are in no way similar to Pakistanis. Our language is most similar to Turkish languages in Central Asia, and structurally similar to Hungarian. We use Persian and Arabic words, but we are not even aware. Although we could not agree at all with the Iranians in this forum, I saw a lot of Turkish speaking when I went two years ago in Tehran as a tourist and genotypes resembled relatively more to Turkey's geography, perhaps Azeri blood ties with Turkey is because they are but the main was hygiene issues I wanted to come. Turkey is an emphasis on cleanliness is a Muslim country, no matter what city, but as far as I watch the Pakistan travel videos until they are needed much less attention to hygiene for standart Turkih People. If you bring a left-wing Istanbul man to Pakistan, it can be folded at a certain time, but if you bring an Islamic Anatolian person to Pakistan that you think you can understand much better, you will not find the optimism you are looking for in terms of hygiene and culture. Iran, on the other hand, pays more attention to trains and vehicles, although their cities are old. When referring to the similarities, you should also consider these, I was not malicious when comparing my Pakistani friends to Afghans and Indians.
When a Turkish person sees Arab clothes, his mood falls, even if he is not considered racist. In general, the only difference between an Indonesian headscarved old woman and a Turkish woman in Anatolia is slanted eyes, but Pakistani are a little different. India was made as a country for Hindus and Pakistan for the muslims.
They are like 2 sides of the same coin. Only difference is religion. Both countries use religion as primary means of uniting the dozens of ethnic groups and languages within it's borders.

If you are asking for a purely Islamic country then I can't think of one. Most Islamic countries are based on ethnic cultural identity.

Most Muslim countries use religion as a major factor in uniting their people, it is not exclusive to Pakistan.

Between Turkey and Arab countries, I don’t think either is that similar to Pakistan. Turkey is more similar to Europe and Arab countries are really their own unique culture. I could never understand what Arab culture is about, because Arab countries have this weird ideology about being Islamic but promoting secularism and monarchy. And Arab countries have always liked collective Pan-Arabism instead of nationalism. Arab countries also rely too much on US for security than using their own army. Afghanistan is more similar to Pakistan than either Turkey or Arab countries but walking in Kabul does not feel similar to walking in Lahore or Karachi because 19 years of war has changed so much about Afghanistan.

I would say Iran is probably the closest to Pakistan. There are too many similarities between Pakistan and Iran to list:

I don’t think there is any other country besides Iran that has that many things in common with Pakistan.

There are some differences.

Driving left vs right
Population difference
Poverty, health, literacy
Sanctions and Isolation
Economic Development
Oil Exports and Industry
Revolution and History
Sunni vs Shia traditions
Food, Dress, Holidays

In spite of these differences, Pakistan will eventually improve its literacy and health, Iran is starting to diversify its economy away from oil. Pakistan will have a better economy and less poverty like Iran today. Iran may one day get nukes or get rid of sanctions like Pakistan today.

I think over time, Pakistan and Iran will become more similar to each other in many ways as time goes on. They can learn a lot from each other.

I don’t think there is any country that feels more similar to Pakistan than Iran ideologically, socially, and physically. There are some places in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz that feel similar when you walk through them and remind you of familiar places and a shared heritage.

This is the biggest similarity. Both countries are Sunni Hanafi Mazhab with a strong emphasis on Sufism. Our history is littered with Ghazis, Islamic warriors who spread Islam in this part of the world, and furthermore qe became Muslim due to the preaching of Islamic scholars, whom we call pirs.

They have an ethnical history though with which they can connect strongly. Ours, it only goes back to the subcontinent, and we don't adore it because we don't want to be associated with Indians. It doesn't matter though. We're building a legacy now, and that's all that matters. A 100 years from now, this moment will be their proud history.

We are also an ethnic state, although our Islamic identity takes priority. This is why it is not easy to gain citizenship if you do not have blood ties to Pakistan.

Dont underestimate Turkey Islamic ideology as their nation has been ruled by Islamist party since early 2000. Turkey has become so liberal due to Ataturk influence that force secularism into Turkish politics and society since WW2. The Islamist has been purged since then but is able to control the nation after the year 2000. Their Islamist part believe highly with Ummah concept, this is why they support Islamist GNA government and Islamist rebel in Syria.

Turks hate Arabs. How will their Ummah concept work minus the Arabs. Again, they aren't a confused bunch like Pakistanis. They know what they are and are proud of it.
I also like Indonesians alot. Proud of their ancient culture to this day. You can't say the same to them.

Anything opposite of the rigid version of Islam as practiced in places in Saudi Arabia and even Iran! Acceptance of religious minorities, celebrating the diversity and even participating in non-Muslim religious events. Not condemning the Mazar-going culture (Mazar=shrines of notable religious leaders). In essence, practice your faith as you see fit and let me practice mine. And I believe a large part of the Indo-Pak Subcontinent ('Indo-Pak Subcontinent' is the term we were taught growing up in Pakistan!) culture has been a very conservative version of Islam but also a tolerant one. Maybe a lot of you don't know what Pakistan was like before Zia ul Haq's rule changed things for the worse.

Also i really don't get why people are aligning us with Turkey. Yes we have historical ties, but they're very different in culture and political outlook. Even their political model is different to ours.

Unfortunately I do not have many friends going to Pakistan, I only had the opportunity to ask 1 person. He said that people behaved well because they were Turkish and Muslim, but he said that the outfit of his people was like arab, he toured all over Asia until last year. When I looked at the travel videos, they also acted well when they learned that Vlogger was Turkish, but he talks about the country's shops, restaurants, and foods are not suitable for Turkish people, I have never been to Pakistan, even if I go because I haven't seen anything worth seeing other than its mountains, I only come for their people.

Within the bounds of Shariah. Opponents of sufism want to make it sounds like a heretic sect, et all the sufi ulema are strict followers and teachers of the shariah in the light of Quran and Hadith. The drums and cannabis is a fringe element.
