I don't necessarily agree here since ugliness and weakness are present in both genders.

A lot of women don't date with the end goal of producing babies but resources, status sharing, and most importantly having an abundant pool of admirers.

The dating apps these days, do you know that 80% of (wont name app for legal reasons) accounts are men? And only the top 10% of men get consistent matches and communication? Essentially the lonely and desperate guys pay for these app's profits. While at the same time, these apps are a source of continuous validation for women and their pool of admirers. My point is, for these women, there will never be a perfect man. There is a chance that the next swipe could be 110% and so on, hence the Hypergamy.

The media and feminist movement-created issues also play a part. These days a woman can height shame men, something one can't control (genes) but if you fat shame a woman, you will face the heat.

Family law courts also incentivize women to initiate divorces because of favorable outcomes. 75% of divorces are initiated by women (90% in the case of college-educated).
