Essentially the lonely and desperate guys pay for these app's profits. While at the same time, these apps are a source of continuous validation for women and their pool of admirers. My point is, for these women, there will never be a perfect man. There is a chance that the next swipe could be 110% and so on, hence the Hypergamy.
The media and feminist movement-created issues also play a part. These days a woman can height shame men, something one can't control (genes) but if you fat shame a woman, you will face the heat.
