I think this is the last question anybody should be asking, because typically the daughter-in-law leaves her home for a new one. In essence, she is the one that has to struggle the most. So the questions that should take preference is .. what makes a good husband, what makes a good father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law followed by what makes a good wifey and then we can talk about her role as a daughter-in-law ..
hehehehehe over the years bahus managed to successfully exclude mother fathet in law and other in laws. managed to enforce own code of life on husbands besides getting separate property in shape of separate residence .

in many cases in laws are aldo equally cruel so in my opinion this good bad daughter in law debate is useless.
in my personal opinion any family where there is imbalance between rights and responsibilities the usual goid bad bahu good bad in laws issues take place.

mostly husbands suffer in this saas bahu drama

Factually incorrect.

Its the kids who pay the worst price just because grown ups can't get there act together.

That's why humans are heading for extinction.

If the daughter in law works and lives with in laws, then it's harsh to have her work in the kitchen. Some want their own daughters who Come from work to take rest and catch a nap, but expect the daughter in law to work tirelessly in the kitchen preparing a meal.

Treat them equally. If you expect other people's daughters to work etc, tell your own daughters too. She's not a slave

Buddy as much as i want to agree with you but the fact is there is little care given in our society about the psychological Holocaust a kid goes through in all this drama.

When we don't even care about Polio i can fully understand how psychological stress is easily brushed aside.

Just look at the recent lone wolf attacks around the world. Its just a blessing that our culture somehow makes up for the pure shizz we put our kids through

Girls listen

Without a husband there is no marriage let alone a happy one. Don't mentally torture him if you want a stable & intact marriage.

Happiness is one of the easiest feeling to be had and the lowest ranking too. It's well below contentment!!

Be content with your partner.

. .
This debate isn't about being content with the partner, it's about him and her leading their own lives together and being good to all the relations around them.

The issue comes when one family decides to dictate the Marriage.

Would a guy like his mother in law and father in law's decisions influencing their Marriage through their wife? No.
