Punjabis don’t just swear to offend and insult, we swear to divulge information, communicate ideas and enrich each other’s lives with meaning. We strive to make this world a better place by substituting mundane phrases with colorful abuse.

"Hai kutha, teri ma di lund..." is quite enriching.

Have you heard the phrase "Tapsii tay thuss karsee"?
This was a stereotype ,funny term used for all Kashmiris...I dont really know the meanings, but i heard this from someone who was teasing a Kashmiri :D

It went 'Aaapeiii tapssi tay aapeii thuss karseee' ! :D

What it means is that if a Kashmiri was going to war (or otherwise) he'd lay down with his gun hoping that the heat will ignite it & it'll fire off itself an allusion to how life was easy in Kashmir. My Grandpa used to tell me that they had a saying about Kashmir that if one were to eat an apple & throw in there & then...you'd find a grown apple tree over there the very next year.

Punjabi is spoken at home and is understood by everybody, Urdu in schools, offices is understood by everybody.... Other regional languages are also popular amongst the communities.
