Not anymore. I have worked in Iraq, and the people are very nice. They go out of their way to help you out. The problem starts about 250km's north from Baghdad (the northern 1/5 of the country). All the rest of the country is fairly safe. No real issues. Peace and calm.

Lots of Chinese CNPC/ Sinopec people working there, along with Russian, Turkish, Indian, UK and US expats.

Iraq will get rid of these expats soon, and hopefully empower its own people. There is resentment among Iraqi's for letting all these mooch off's working there at the expense of its own people. Surprisingly I didn't see a single Iranian anywhere in the project teams at Rumeila oil fields, (second largest in the world). I was the only fukking one!

Iran has not interfered in Iraq's economy at all! Iran's only limited to providing assistance to the Iraqi Army and the PMU's for security. No other involvement, other than Iranians at Iraqi religious sites and I saw it when I was there.

Iraq is a very dangerous place. ISIS is a very big problem for Iraq.

Iraq was the most advanced Arab country in terms of education, science and technology as well as in Civil Engineering where it had its own modern standard..
Before the US invasion Iraq has almost 0 analphabetic..It was a rich and great country..
Today's Iraq!? well, it too blurry to see anything yet..It is just coming out from the most devastating invasion war of the recent times .. followed by yet another devastating civil war.. not many nations could sustain both of these wars and stay intact.. territory wise..it only shows that Iraq is a homogeneous society despite the differences.. thus Iran won't be able to continue its political influence for a long time..but they will be good neighbours to each other.. instead of enemies like in the past.. and that is positive for both as well as for the region....
Iraq has the potential and the means to come back and stand on its feet again..

No one knows what might happen tomorrow but there's hope with all the resources we have and and some loyal men and women we can be some serious number in the region and better living opportunity than many countries around us

We might loose another four years for corruption because it's really strong
I hear these days some good news
Some Iraqis packing up their luggage going back home some other thinking to leave but many of those left regret it
It's not easy rebuilding a country that destroyed by wars
It's even worse when that country been in a civil war
Worst of all when corruption like Octopus spreading every where sucking the wealth of the nation like worm sucking blood.

There is still hope
