Farsi was widely spoken and taught in schools of Pakistan. Our Urdu literature is literally in farsi format. Most of the poets, including famous Sir Alama Iqbal preferred it this way. Whatever language exists in Pakistan today is derived from farsi. We refer to this as indo-Aryan.

I can understand it 75% of anthem have Urdu words in it.
