You forgot to mention the blasphemous Qadiani cult that has been the reason for many recent religious conflicts in Pakistan. What about ISI and Pakistan army creating blowback from their Taliban adventures.

I think the reason that Greeks did not have allies is the myth associated with the Trojan Horse. It is said in Latin "Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes" which means "I fear the Danaans (Greeks) even if they bring gifts". While glorifying the Greeks , Homer also hurt them badly in the long term.
