You could make the same argument for Pakistan. Jinnah was very upset when Mountbatten showed the final boundaries and called it "a moth eaten Pakistan" Jinnah actually had wanted Hyderabad, Junagadh, the entirety of Kashmir, Jammu, and Ladakh, the entirety of Assam and Tripura, as well as Muslim-majority districts in UP and Bihar. Obviously, he got none of that, and only a small part of Kashmir.
Also, I am pretty sure Muslims made up approximately 40 percent of undivided India, so it is only fair they got 40 percent of the landmass. Everyone had to give up something, its called compromise.

At the end of the day, our country is far bigger than yours and has more fertile land plus control of the Indus and her tributaries, as well as a border with ASEAN. Control of Lakshadweep and AaN Islands also allow us to control the Arabian Sea and the Straits of Malaca, two of the most strategic waterways in the world. So all in all, we got a pretty good deal/

really your country is big and have everything lol..
you have chicken neck and china can press that neck if you dont behave.
you lost your access to central asia Afghanistan and iran ...
you have to go thru Pakistans water to travel to middle east.
you have created hate in your surroundings ..

Can any one explain to me what do Indians celebrate on 15th Aug every year??

On 15th Aug 1947 British India was divided in to India and Pakistan ( East and West). So Muslim minority of the country got independent from Hindus who were in majority not only in political circles but also in all walks of life, especially trade & commerce and education.

"The population of undivided India in 1947 was approx 390 million. After partition, there were 330 million people in India, 30 million in West Pakistan, and 30 million people in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh)."

Indian National congress and Hindu leaders tried hard to prevent partition and keep the country united however Britishers ended up giving up on Jinnah's principle stand of two nation theory. Britishers were going through a massive economical problems post world war II and wanted to leave the sub continent any ways.

So what is it that India celebrates?? They lost 40 % of area to a relative minority Muslims. They should actually mourn. Is there something I am missing, please enlighten me.

How come we put it like this. The guys who always brag about a 1000 years of rule over the subcontinent when given a chance yet again by the same power who overthrew them, instead of laying claim onto their previous privilages, ran with the tail between their legs to a relatively underdeveloped pieces of landmass far less is terms of area.

Instead of standing their ground and fighting for their rights, the Cowards choose to run away from their historic power corridor Delhi without uttering a single world, effectively make the remnants of their kinds as minorities in Republic. Of India. And the Irony is some of them still keep on dreaming "Dili Fathah Karangae". LOL :sarcastic::omghaha::omghaha::omghaha:

And if someone still feel too proud about this, let God may help them. :omghaha:

In fact many Indian folks lament and resent the partition of the British India!!! They have serious reservations regarding Nehru and Gandhi's judgements!!!! They think like how the Congress leaders got duped by Jinnah, and couldn't show some mettle!!! The British were there to leave ASAP, Jinnah was terminally ill, the Muslims would be always divided, and a bloody civil war could be tolerated!!!! IMO India didn't gain from the partition, rather lost the vigor it required to build their country to be a super star in Asia!!!! Hence, Gandhi himself was killed, and BJP is so popular among the educated Indian folks....

Only fools would think so. It was the master strategy of Nehru and Patel that resulted in partition of British India on political lines, which effectively ended any serious political opposition for Congress in electoral politics. The just pushed and cornered others concerned to make it a reality.

The partition simply killed Muslim league a major political party across India and Congress came out to be a single major political party for decades to come.

It was simple petty politics, and Jinnah just played to the tune that the congress high command of the time played. So yes, majority of Indian including me think, good riddence. :bunny:

We obviously wouldn’t mind having the Pakistani land added to our current boundaries, didn’t say we want the people, it’s culture or it’s theocracy, which actually is what make up the modern political entity of Pakistan. Definitely celebrating not being called a Pakistani or “****”...that’s for sure! Lol

Don’t think I need to speak to our leadership for that...

More than anything, the Lankans know that they can’t face India’s wrath, especially when India sits just across the strait and an unreliable China who will drop them like a hot potato for their own interests, left to the mercy of India.

Rajapaksa wanted to run with the hare and hunt with the hounds, doesn’t work like that. I think SL understands that now under their leadership. Unfortunately, the debt chickens have come home to roost. So they have to pay their pound of flesh to the Chinese. So be it.

Then you should definitely have no issue being called cow piss drinkers and all the other derogatory terms that come for you so how about you go have a cow cola now and shit in public sounds about right and celebrate that. Lol absolute mug

My sincere felicitations to fellow members from India on the occasion of the 71st Independence day.
