Could build a gun based Air Defence capability.

The OTOMATIC turret has a 76mm gun latest version is DRACO turret. Made by Italy whom Pakistan has a good history of weapon purchases.

Chinese systems like LD2000 for point defence and truck mounted PG99 Guns.

I decided to try to revive this thread with one post. I have made a layered air defence map over Eastern Pakistan near key cities. It isn't really that good, but it is a good reference of range.

FD-2000
The export version of HQ-9, providing extra anti-stealth capability by incorporating YLC-20 passive radar sensor as an option. FD-2000 made its name by once securing Turkish surface-to-air missile contract, later cancelled due to political reasons. FD-2000's reaction time from radar contact to missile engagement is around 12–15 seconds. It covers an area of 49000 square kilometres. FD-2000 was on exhibition in Zhuhai Airshow 2014. Range against aircraft is 125 km.

Battery consists of
- 1 Command and coordination vehicle
- 6 Command and Control vehicle
- 6 Target designation radar
- 6 guidance radar vehicle
- 48 Missile launching vehicle
- 198 missile in containerr
- 1 set of positioning and orientation vehicle
- 1 set of communication vehicle
- 1 set of power supply vehicle
- 1 set of support equipment

Sky Dragon 50
The Sky Dragon 50 also called GAS2 is a Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Defense missile system designed and manufactured by the Chinese Defense Company NORINCO (China North Industries Corporation). The Sky Dragon was unveiled for the first time during the AAD Defense Exhibition of South Africa in September 2014. The Sky Dragon 50 is the latest generation of air defence missile system developed by Norinco which has a maximum firing range of 50 km. According the Chinese military magazine Kanwa, the Chinese Defense Company NORINCO has exported its new medium-range surface-to-air defense missile system to Rwanda. This country is the first foreign customer for the Sky Dragon 50. It is based off of the SD-10 BVRAAM with an added booster.

FM-90
The FM-90, also called HQ-7B for the Chinese market, is an advanced short-range air defense missile weapon system produced by CNPMIEC. The FM-90 is an all-weather short-range ground to air missile weapon system mainly used in important sites and battle fields air defense against air targets flying at low or very low altitude.

It uses advanced radar and optoelectronic sensors combined to detection and guidance technology, has an excellent low-altitude interception performance and strong anti-jamming capability.

The FM-90/HQ-7B is an improved variant of the HQ-7/FM-80 system with faster and longer-range missiles. Missiles which are also featuring an IR-tracking camera. It has an effective range of 0.7 to 15 km depending on target.

It can not only effectively destroy precision guided weapons such as cruise missile, tactical air-to-ground missile and anti-radiation missile, but also intercept fighter-bomber, attack aircraft, UAV and armed helicopters.

Anza MK II
The Anza (عنزہ Anza) is a series of shoulder-fired, man-portable surface-to-air missiles produced by Pakistan. Guided by an infrared homing seeker, the Anza is used for short range air defence.[6][7]

The Anza is produced by Kahuta Research Laboratories (KRL), being one of the facility's main conventional weapons projects. Development was originally undertaken to eliminate dependence on importing expensive foreign systems.[8] Various versions of the Anza are currently in service with the Pakistan Army,[9] with the Mk-III version being the most recent.[10] The Anza is also offered for export, Malaysia being its only known export customer after receiving 100 Anza Mk-I in 2002 and, later, a further 500 Anza Mk-II systems.[11]

This is a crude map covering Lahore, and Faisalbad with FD-2000 125km range missile as the big circle, Sky Dragon 50 as smaller circle, FM-90 as smaller circle, and Anza as smallest circle.

where is spada-2000 here sir?

Economy is the main focus at present

Well it seems Pakistan already had enough investment done for SAM
for which we already have seen inductions in past

Now focus is rightly on

a) Navy
b) APC / Troop protection

Turkish Systems appear to be a good option , similar to some Chinese SAMs but what we purchased is already proper

  • Some Iranian posters posted their Galaxy of SAMs which they have produced over last 20 years and it is a impressive collection

I personally like the traditional and Unblockable Un Jammable

Chinese Anti Air Weapon

No, it isn't proper actually. HQ-16 (40KM) is in no way sufficient for protection of Pakistani airspace compared to S-400, HQ-9, S-300, Patriot missile etc. Chinese is the best option for Pakistan because of easier integration into AD networks and communication with JF-17, a partly Chinese system. Iranian systems are copies of Russian, American, and Chinese systems dumbed down for export.

.
:pop:

We have enough Gun powder to light up Indian asses 10 times

We are ok with SAM systems

a) SPADA2000
b) HQ-7B
c) LY-80 (HQ-16)

We could maybe see Anza III surface with local Manufacturing

The range is 40 km for HQ-16... FD-2000 is 125 km. They aren't in the same category at all. If PAF had FD-2000 Balakot strike would have been prevented.

:smokin: Well if anything was to be shown I'm sure it would have been presented at the parade
No major news unfortunately in SAM area it seems

The cost for SAM system is a factor of course one purchase unlike Saudi Arabia who can buy both Patriot and S-300 Systems, we have limited funds so we have bought what we needed

Just investing in Exotic SAM and then a simple Yamani (Allegedly ) , toy gets thru

  • Also the Troops protection is important so we move away from Toyota Trucks
  • Hizir (Turkish product) would be nice to get 20,000 of these for Border rangers
  • 582257a967b0a91b387dc475.jpg

Or Pather 10 (Turkish Product) , we need something like that for our Border (Iran / Afghanistan etc)
