I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to the all time greats. :P

I must have. Probably didn't think too much of it at the time. I'll listen to it.
 
BTW, @RAMPAGE @Nilgiri the most emotional and perhaps the most musically sublime concerto I have heard was neither Violin nor Piano.

Cello perhaps? I quite enjoy du Pre's schumann concerto.

My second guess would be clarinet. I do like meself mozarts clarinet one a lot.
