The problem with US is the lost of competitor like Soviet Union makes them believe they are unbeatable. Their arrogant to refuse to accept the reality of China filling that void to challenge US might.

When u believe you are invincible, that is where the problem will come.

the major reason is there is no progress in science in America.

the globalization was nearly a perfect project, America control the science and technology, the rest of world are labors.

but any useful system has bug, this time China is the bug.

Americans like to pretend they are a big deal but really, they are the weakest superpower power with the shortest period of dominion in entire human history. Coming to Rome, its demise actually started with the fall of the republic, it was too great a machine to fall quickly but its actually demise started with installation of emperors.

My thoughts exactly. Although Rome saw a sudden growth in power following the demise of the Republic and the rise of Ceasers, this spurt was temporary, and the holding of vast amount of power without checks and balances gradually led to the emergence of buffons like Caligula who ultimately were the biggest reason behind Rome's demise.

Whats interesting is that one study by Princeton University has already concluded that the US has drifted from a democracy to an oligarchy. Having said that a compelling argument can be made that even Rome during its republican phase was an oligarchy at best, dominated by a few families. Nevertheless the drift from democracy to dictatorship does lead to cracks emerging in large multicultural socities, as democracies by their very nature are meant to be inclusive.

Rome collapsed mainly because Roman warm period ended and caused widespread famine and unrest. The Asian steppes also had famine which forced nomads from the Asian steppes to pillage Rome for survival. Rome's fall is due to nature.

Agree but world of today is really different from world past ... when roman empire collapsed there was no global economy ... british emoire collapse after severe bloodshed in coloñies and other powers ... millions died in world wars ...

Russia is fairly steady due to very heavily guarded borders and airports. Russia border guards shoot people who try to illegally enter. And people who overstay their VISA in Russia get caught very quickly with very bad consequences.
