That's your assumption. China had been conquered by Mongols and Manchus and Chinese have always spoken Chinese. There was no indication Japan was going to ban Chinese language. In fact, Japan administered conquered areas in China by Chinese.

Thats not the case ... still the best research institutes are in US ... chinese are getting benefits of economic development and huge population base ... they have converted their weekness into strength ...
