China decided to use the word “JOINT” to make some people happy. Couldn’t China have produced a fighter of JF class without “so called jointness” and technical prowess of Pakistan? With this logic India could have called SU-30 also joint. Because, India produces SU-30s in the same manner wherein the airframe is manufactured and the aircraft assembled with import of few parts from Russia and other countries. SU-30 MKI was given a lot of enhancement based on Indian requirements.
This word “JOINT” has really destroyed a nation’s perception of it's technical capability. From no where and completely lost in the world of aviation technology a nation has started thinking that it has arrived already.
Very soon there might be swarms of trolls saying that for LCA also India is importing the engine and some other stuff. They wouldn’t understand the difference between designing the airframe, controls, FBW, onboard systems and integrating these completely on your own VS sending some people to China to lay down the QRs who then produce it and the output becomes a “JOINT” one.
