Western backed terrorists kill top Sunni cleric in Syria

Very unfortunate incident.

The force of the blast can judged from the bent and twisted blades of the ceiling fan, in the 7th photo. The shock wave itself was probably sufficient to cause severe internal injuries to organs, not to mention any shrapnel that may have been used.

Finally this pig died.
I doubt the official story, I think the government sought to divert attention from the recent chemical weapons they used on civilans. No one claimed the attack, why?
In either case, he supported the regimes massacres of innocent civilians, children were killed because of his fatwas. Hell is where he belongs.

This (Banu Umayyah post) is a perfect example of blood thirsty terrorists in Syria, they come from outside Syria...
And you have funny logic, no wonder why you love seeing people die, is that the democracy you want to bring to Syria? kill any one that oppose your views?
and plus he didn't make any fatwas, he can't make fatwas... he can only show support to the Syrian army fight against terrorists that kill innocent people and kids...

It actually pains me to see what's been happening not just in Syria but in much of the Muslim world. Seems we are descending further into a fitna and hopefully it would be a reversible one. Syria is troubling b/c its effects are spreading like cancer - not just to Lebanon but to other countries. Very dirty games are being played in Syria; but at the same time Assad should have reviewed the signals lingering in the air following this so-called "Arab Spring" --which doesnt seem to be going on as democratic path as it was originally thought.

Syria (Al-Sham) is an ancient country. I hope all the ancient artifacts are protected and that the fighting becomes limited to just certain areas and it doesnt spread. If Syria goes to the dogs and extremists take over - then the West/GCC bloc will have made a mistake that will cost millions more lives.

2 years later and the conflict is going nowhere. Why won't Syrians wake up and realize that they are brothers and shouldnt be killing eachother --especially at a time when your real enemies are those that occupy GolanSticks and Stones May Break Our Bones, but Fitna Really Hurts Us

p.s. sectarian conflict didnt exist but clearly this Allawi-Sunni rivarly exists now and the government should be working to create a finer sectarian balance in government

otherwise officers defect and join the rebel ranks

All good but who created this fitna? Who is financing Islamist mercenaries? And what does this say about the use of Islam as a tool of politics and nationalism??

Probably he did not agree with or approved the actions of Fasadi Syrian Army.
This FSA crap is just turning into another puritan Taliban like violence wave.

Who the hell blows a suicide bomb in a mosque? Isnt suicide haram? Mosque is a sacred santury where even enemy has to be excused because spilling blood at places of worship taints them.

Sucide bombing clearly show the inflence of Wahabi states KSA. Syria is about to become another libya.

Which you bring up a good point, we Syrians never even cared about sects and religion... we knew each others as Syrians... until those outside terrorists and Wahabbi fatwas from Saudi clerics and others created this sedition (Fitna)

Insha'Allah the Syrian people will not let the terrorists plan happen in Syria, we will defend our country, and we will always fight terrorism...

Everyone is a pig, traitor, regime agents - this is not a civility to run politics. This is totalitarianism . One has to tolerate opposing view points and let them have their say. Suicide bombing itself is haram and to execute someone out of the blue along with tens of innocent people is the most deplorable act ever. Let me tell you who is the real pig - these ****** clerics breeding on oil money like scum of the earth. Does any one wonder why Saudi clerics happen to have such an upscale life style? These people are supposed to be God's viceroy on earth having devoted their life to religion, their lifestyle should be simplistic and pure.

Islam is an imperial religion therefore it cannot be segregated from Politics and foreign interference unless off-course the state disowns it.

Wondering who is inspiring these hardcore elements in Syria, Even the most religious Syrians are not this extreme.

Yes, Islam has been imperial -- but really Islam is what her adherents practice -- because Islam has been historically associated with politics and in particular political violence (consider that two of the 4 righteous caliphs were victims of political violence, even the schism between Sunni and Shi'ah is a politically manufactured one) --And having said this, if Muslims today reject the murder of co-religionists and any other in the name of religion, it will stop -- fact of the matter is that we as Muslims do not object to this barbarism, and instead we are faced with a calamity, one that will surely destroy us as Muslims. So what must be done?

Unless we learn from our history and the history of others and reject the use of religion as a tool of politics and reaffirm that religion, in particular Islam, is about FAITH in God, we will suffer more and more outrages, till a time will come that we may not be able to assert ourselves as humanity.

Humans have an empty corner in their brain for faith and religion. Anything which is able to surpass the fundamentals of commonsense and become elevated to the status of holy will occupy this space. Making your own religion is not all that difficult however exposing an already established religion is very difficult. Over time there have been many instances in human history where this hunger for faith and religion has been exploited to propel political goals. Nazi's bought their superior race theory and the Soviets bought their communism by exploiting the same hunger for faith - where people are almost driving blind into believing nonsense.

Recipe for making a religion:

A holy book
A holy Place
A holy man
Some gimmickry and confidence skills.
Make belive stories and well executed miracles.

One can argue that ideologies like democracy and secularism are a modern continuation of faith over obsolete religions.

Yes all that may be the case, but however we may choose to define and characterize it - we cannot deny it - we cannot deny the experience of Faith, as others experience this love of God.

Every one knows that there are only very few countries who would be dumb enough to arm some nuts without any regard of future consequences. Some stone age idiots with modern technologies in their hands who still consider shias as cursed in 21st century.

Syria is one of the few countries with a lot of shia population. Bashar Al-Asad was born in a Alawite faimly which is shia majority clan.

Poor old man, and every other victim that dies from this terrorist attack. RIP
Very cowardice act. Its mind boggling how some people are so indoctrinated with hate and propaganda, that they still believe FSA is fighting for the Syrian people.
There is also recent news of chemical attacks against civilians, most probably commited by the FSA!
Syrian government has urged the UN to probe and launch an investigation, but some Western states (like UK) are trying to delay or block it. That should tell you who is responsible for that chemical attack.
