Firstly the article mentions a running water power project. But a dam could also be possible. But there are enough options available including control of the source by India. Besides, even China can't build a dam big enough to catch all the monsoon deluge. India needs only to build a dam on it's land to store enough for local consumption. Ofcourse what it means is that Bangladesh gets further screwed.
On the water dispute with Pakistan...ofcourse we hold back water for our own consumption. You expect Indians to charitably let water flow to Pakistan while locals go thirsty? You'd have done the same!!!!

Jana as far i know if china builds dam on Brahmaputra and no water comes to India we wont be affected that much. its your Muslim BD brothers who will suffer most.

We don't have to worry if china close the gates of brahmaputra dam...we just need to close the gates of farakka n other dams on the river and dams in jammu n kashmir....n redirect the water back to mainland n other parts of india...

If our dear neighbours who hates us every second brings up water issue tell them to go and ask china...
