It would definitely be the first nuclear use. But most nations in a similar position would do the same.

As I have said, there has been international understanding among major powers, that the use of tactical nukes on invading armies is fair game.

Russia has the policy, for any potential invading force.

US has similar policy, with its tactical nukes placed in Germany.

Well this further complicates thing then. If Pakistan were to really loosing the conventional war, and if it knew or believed for sure that even a tactical strike would invite a strategic response, well that would mean they would conclude that a first strike complete strategic strike should be made.

As I say, irrespective of what Indian Official doctrine says, the fact that Pakistan can use tactical nukes will be a huge deterrent for any large scale offensive, and further, in the case of an offensive action, this will simply be too difficult to manage.

Because Pakistan can legitimately claim that it has all rights to attack an invading army with a nuke. And then India claims that they would strike full on. So then, Pakistan says, strike first.

India got land after a strike? have u seen india first of all, and the great Pakistani army is so fearfull that they will use nukes for every small skirmishes, and the pakistanis think that india will not retaliate , Pakistanis have to use 1000 nukes to soften our defences, and india will retaliate with twice the force, do you know about second strike capability ? India has many hidden assets. And do you know that nukes are inaffective in mountains. India has lot of them

Seems like Pakistan has nuclear wepons and India has bananas. If there is war and Pakistan uses nuclear wepons, India will not run to UN or USA. First thing india does is inform the world and UN to take off the name plate of Pakistan from UN table and declare one country less on the list from now onwards.

India is helpless...for Pakistan's fate.
