We have lost hope in NRC's present form: Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assamese Muslims in Brahmaputra valley are basically descendents of the Bengali Muslim settlers during the British rule. They adopted Assamese identity only due to political reasons, heck even in the mid 20th century they were politically aligned with Bengali Hindus in Assam and were perceived as the main opponents by the Assamese aborigines.
Sorry to say this, but you have little knowledge about the Assamese muslims. The indigenous muslims of Assam are the Goria(Khilji's failed invasion), Moria(captive Mughal prisoners) and the Desis(muslim converts of the Koch Rajbongshi kingdom)- they are the khilonjias and have assimilated into our culture to the extent that they celebrate our Assamese festivals and even offer prayers in our Namghars.

You are brazenly lying about your Bangladeshi muslims better known as na-asomiya miyas some of whom were settled into Assam by the British(we have no problems with them being Indian citizens) but a greater chunk of them immigrated to Assam due to the dismal state of affairs in your country and we will make sure to kick each of them out.

It's not mere resemblance, you indeed use Bengali alphabets to write in Assamese.
Where did you get that false notion? There are no substitutes for couple of Assamese alphabets in your Bangla, and historical records of those are proof enough that our language is far older to yours and developed independently.

Assamese people might have held demonstrations against the British but they were not induced by the desire of independence simply because Assamese people were too primitive to understand the concept of nationalism.
A country where they don't even teach the basics of India's struggle against British imperialism, and where history begins from 1971 should be the last to lecture us on nationalism. Only contribution of your ancestors was to play the religious card for your self servient needs.

Even the more recent Assam Agitation and the movements leading to the NRC could hardly be stated as nationalist in nature. The prime motivation behind these events is the concern about the perceived demographic threat
You got the highlighted part right, the Bongal miyas are indeed a threat to the well being of our region and country as a whole.

Assamese Muslims
Talking about myths, there's a last one i would like to debunk. The indigenous Assamese muslims themselves are a great opponent of the na-asomiya Bangladeshi miyas, they don't like one bit how the Bangladeshis are trying to corrupt their version of Islam and bringing a bad name to the state by their criminal and extremist activities.
