We Are 'Not Interested' in US F-35 Fighters - Indian Air Force Chief

.
India should focus on convincing the world that LCA is more advanced than F-22. India is all about the future tech, since ancient Indians invented internet, India should have a galaxy class star ship. The only question is can India go warp 9.5
ok , we will hire you for that sales promotion as you are the best propaganda master

Other than Japan, none of the countries listed has produced anything physical so far. Even Japan is looking to acquire an F-22/F-35 hybrid after suspending the Shinshen project.
Even if they don't achieve in making a full system they can make use of the subsystems in other purchases. Buying a complete system in numbers will be a challenge for emerging economies and would mean sacrificing on their development cycle.

What country other than the U.S., Russia, and China is building their own?

These countries such as S Korea, Turkey and India will abandon their 5th gen project soon. Especially India, which requests France, a country that have not developed a fifth gen plane, to help India build one. It's blind leading the blind. A fifth gen plane ambition is only realistic for US, Russia and China.

That seems like Indian style project planning. It will have LCA style results

IAF is actually quite interested in this platform ,they have recently asked the government to boost its production
Its rather this way: IAF is facing an acute shortage of planes. They need ANY half way decent plane right now. If they can get LCA without much of fuss then they want it! And they want it fast. No one wants to fly the fatal Mig-21 anymore.

Tejas is not a bad plane and it is no Rafale too. It is a half way decent defender with ability to operate in almost all of Indian conditions. It can fire most of the weapons in Indian arsenal. When going toe to toe against JF-17, the mainline fighter for Pakistan, it will be able to hold on by itself, freeing Su-30s and Rafales for the eastern front or to do special mission elsewhere.

You only get LCA type result if you are constantly in denial mode and your reputation is at stake, so you let the blame carry on to some other person and this continues in an infinite loop until someday instead of delivering the product you paint it as a learning exercise.
I think no other sane nation can reach their level.

Which countries have developed a fighter jet without being active in WW2 and early cold war?

I couldn't agree with you more
We have to replace our mig 21 and mig27 planes plus we have to boost our squadron numbers we have only 36 ,we need at least 42
Tejas will be very helpful in beefing up the numbers ,it has an AESA radar a very reliable and proven engine , composite structure ,modern fly by wire flight control system, and modern avionics mix of Indian and Israeli avionics used on f 16 sufa
Plus it's greatest advantage is that it's giving the Indian aerospace industry a much needed boost
But I think it's at least 8 years late

My understanding is that the Tejas is a plane a decade (or maybe longer) too late. You simply can't fill gaps with a Fourth generation light fighters any more when the neighbors are fielding increasingly more sophisticated hardware.

The neighbourhood isn't that advanced.
We can afford to have a modern light fighter as our back bench when a similar one will be the mainstay of one of our adversaries.
To fill the numbers with Rafale and such would be a waste of resources in the current scenario.

Not saying at all that we don't need heavier and more advanced fighters. Just that Tejas is a requirement.

Tejas with Aesa is vapourware

Thanks.
