India has a better chance of defeating USA in war than defeating Australia anywhere in Australia in WC final. Even you know that. If the WC was played in India then no Australian team can beat us.

Wickets also matter like the margin of runs. A 10 wicket or 8 wicket defeat to SA is as bad as a 150 run defeat.

Winning with 20 run margin won't help if all three teams WI, Ireland, Pakistan end up with three wins. Pakistan need to improve their NRR.

Wickets dont matter. Its better to chase and win by 1 wicket in 25 overs than win by 10 wickets in 50 overs

India is going to lose out anyway, so why don't we ensure that we force an early exit f Pakistan while claim that we manage to play the knock-outs. That would be as good as winning the cup.

If India qualify at no1 of groupB, then India would face Bangladesh (probably England) in QF. Now if from group A, Australia qualifies at no3, then it would face SA in QF and Srilanka would face no3 team of group B and NZ would face no4 team of group B. In this situation India would face Sri Lanka in Semis and Australia would face NewZealand in SF. India would not meet either NZ or AUS until final.

If India qualifies at no1 and Australia qualifies at no2, then India would meet Aus in SF.

If India qualifies at no2 and Australia qualifies at no3, India would meet Aus in QF.

If India qualifies at no2 and Australia qualifies at no2, India would meet SriLanka in QF and NZ in SF.

the two most important matches would be: Ind v/s Ire AND Pak v/s Ire

For Pak to go through Ireland would need to loose to both India and Pak.
