Some missiles misses their target because these missiles are not designed to hit low temp flare.

These missiles never hit their target, but explode when within a distance to the target. If the come close to a target in these exercise that proves their accuracy.

I was not worried about Indian capability to handle Pak Af. I was more worried about to handle the misadventure at northern border and eastern border. Now some of my doubts are clear so. less worries.

Why everyone going crazy over R73 missing flares as if R73 is a hit to kill missile. These missile explode near to the target that is not possible to show in such exercise. If they pass close to the flare that would be enough to show a target kill.

please guys give your emotions a rest.
some things are unavoidable and you cant blame every thing on the Russians, its unfair comment really.

I will try to keep my post short and relevant. A country with a size of India and a hefty defence budget is bound to have organisations and working practices which might not be fit for purpose. there are some things that are unavoidable, unreasonable and unnecessary procedures in procurement, training, selection of weapons and accessories, kickbacks commissions, favouritism etc.

watch the movie buffalo soldiers and you will get a hint. the bigger the budget and bigger the size, harder it is to audit, control and enforce compliance. some things that look too obvious and too simple to address takes months to implement and thats where you see some bulky organisations outsource specialist operations to smaller, leaner companies.

guy you are sending rockets in space so get hold of yourself if your pilots are missing targets then get yourself a bottle of vodka or cup of tea and take a deep breath and chart out every little thing what is causing the issue and be very brutal and cold about it, thats how you can save yourself from total embarrassment and use a disaster to your advantage.
recall the crash of a Russian jet? they showed off how good their ejection seats were even at low altitude.


people are resistant to change and some times too stubborn, when it comes to defence then there are sensitivities and pride as well. so the most prized and most hyped toys fall short of expectations.
