Thanks. Friend what's china's answer to P-8I? Let me put this way, 'How would china counter america's P-8I? Let alone india because whenever we say india than china says india not their enemy but america. Will china shot down P-8I By SAM's? And if yes than do u think america a fool to build P-8I Which can be shot down by SAM's? And P-8I only build to destroy and had no self defence equipment onboard? Thank you.

Friend than china should not claim our anurachal pradesh. Just come and take it. Instead of saying anurachal pradesh belongs to china ur country should take action and should not do lip service and claiming like a kid that anurachal pradesh belongs to china. And friend india's military budget is 38 billion dollars while china's military budget is 72 billion dollars. India twice behind china. Would you like to compare china's military budget with america? America spends 750 billion dollars. First catch up with russia. Just yesterday i seen news russia got 245 submarines. Than chinees submarine total displayed and it was 65 submarines. While india got 18 submarines and 6 in making and 3 nuclear submarine too in the making and two nuclear submarine would be given to india by russia. Its name is 'Nerpa'. i have read that china dont have submarine that would match russia's most leathel submarine 'Nerpa'. First match russia and than dream of catching up with america friend. i agree with u friend. All i asked him was how would china counter P-8I. As the topic of this thread is 'P-8I'. He answerd with all stuffs that does not belongs to this thread and guess what, yet again our sukhoi-30MKI been dragged into this thread where we are discussing P-8I. All they keep saying is china the next super power. As far as i know china is devoloping country like india and not devoloped. Anyway back to topic. P-8I is the best purchase by india from america. India should eye more military stuffs from america as now defence deal with america done. P-8I is just the start.

the P-8I Orion is a million gazellion times better than the ka-something(32 wasit?) anti-sub helis with the IN...it's range is phenomenal....and them harpoons are lethal...would give an edge to any navy.
but how can it be countered?
ship based SAMs...probably not...subs operate generally further into the enemy territory...and surface ships have to achieve a significant naval superiority to go that far...as far as PN is concerned...this seems very difficult as their surface fleet needs some more time and money to be effective in accomplishing that.
btw...can some one tell me what SAMs does the PN have aboard it's ships?
the other way to defeat the patrol aircraft is to shoot it down in aerial combat....this stresses the need for the PAF to at least have a naval branch if not a dedicated PN air arm.
