Mao did not believe in the stupid Western system of mass voting, agree. But he believed every people were equal (hence land reform) and the bad aspects of Chinese culture needed to be removed for the country to grow (hence the cultural revolution, which similarly happened in Vietnam earlier in 1955 at smaller scale together with land reform). He banned opium and forced every children to go to school.

Tell me, you put out moral outrage at Mao sleeping with post-puberty women. What is your opinion on Western militaries going around the world massacring people ? On films like Rambo, American Sniper and The Dictator legitimizing and normalizing what are crimes against humanity ? Your linked article has a section of Mao being treated for venereal disease coming from his sleeping with those young women but what do you say about the cancers that the Americans gave to the Iraqis through usage of Depleted Uranium armaments ?

Mao brutally and heavy handedly wiped out some traditions being around for thousands of years in China in just couple of years, women's foot binding, polygamy, opium and other drugs taking, prostitution, gambling, witch doctors and superstition practices liberated half of the population, women, from feudalist homebound restrictions and gave equal education right to all citizens... All those measures almost overnight changed the whole nation from a feudalist backward, superstitious culture into scientifically based modern culture unfettered by old drawbacks, Mao leveled the foundation ground and paved the road for Chinese's future modernization development, without Mao's cultural modification groundwork, his successors can't do much to develop the country.

If India had a Mao, their notorious caste system would've been long gone and the country would have rivaled China in every aspect if not better.
