imposing jizya and harassing the non muslim subjects with various taxes is a form of intimidation...nobody puts knife on your throat and asks you to convert...the rulers oppress the people in various ways so that they finally follow the religion of theirs...most of the times even perks like reducing taxes for who ever converts will also be provided...all this comes into forced conversion..of course many untouchables and outcasts converted to islam en masse..i dont deny it...but the remaining people converted for incentives or escape the harassment in the hands of the rulers
