OK some good and bad news, although this is not the full year results and so especially in terms of exports, things may change as Walton entered new markets in the last quarter of the previous fiscal.

Good - Revenue increase by 24.9% over same period last year.

Bad - Exports increased by 157% over same period last year. Walton targeted around 6-700% increase in this sector.

"Revenue of the company increased by 24.9% YoY even though July and the first week of August were in strict lockdown due to Covid-19. This is mainly due to the rise of consumer spending in 2021 as the mass vaccination program has allowed normalcy of business activities. Domestic sales increased by 22.7% YoY from Tk 42,215.6 Mn in 9M’20-21 to Tk 51,803.8 Mn in 9M’21-22."

"
Export which is now the focus of the company increased by a staggering 156.5% YoY from Tk 702.8 Mn in 9M’20-21 to Tk 1,802.3 Mn in 9M’21-22. Revenue contribution from export has increased to 3.6% of the total revenue in 9M’21-22 compared to only 1.6% in the same period last year."

Tripple digit growth only happens at the start of the journey....growth will begin to settle.

Excellent progress by walton, i look forward to the day they break first a billion dollar turnover mark and then reach 100m in exports.

Exports have increased from about $7.5 million to around $19 million USD. A commendable achievement

Well like I say this is only the first 9 months of last fiscal and they launched into new markets in Q4 and so who knows what could happen when the full fiscal figures are published ;)

Remember Walton has done this without a lot of its product range in the huge North American market.

This may be a massive reason why Walton may not be able to meet its target of 100 million US dollars of export sales for last fiscal.

The company already exports smartphones to the US.

"We will supply refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, televisions, and small appliances to the North American market," said Abdur Rouf, vice president of the global business division at Walton."
